So...my wife and I have been gnex owners since the launch day. We have been fortunate to have none of the reported issues you can read about ad nauseum here on these forums. Our phones work perfectly....until last night.

I left my phone at work and had to use my wifes phone. I had helped her set it up but had not really looked at it till last night. I was on this forum with her phone and coukdnt figure out why it looked so damn different. Then I looked at her status bar and the battery meter and the signal meter looked almost grey...almost. Well I got my phone this morning and compared and sure enough her screen was all washed out. Whites were yellowish, it was incapable of producing deep dark blacks....etc...etc. So I headed to the verizon store to see what they would do.

Went in explained what was happening, showed the girl the two screens and then expected to have an arguement......she looked down, typed a little on her screen.....and said "Im sorry you had this problem, you will have a new one shipped to your house on thursday, and I made sure that they send you a new one not a refurb"........I was a bit stunned. Who knew that in some corners of the world customer service and being extremely helpful are still in vogue....kudos to the girl at the Verizon store, she made me actually feel good to be a verizon customer.

Good ones are out there. It also helps if you approach it like you did; not demanding anything, not being rude. Just explaining the issue and seeing what they can do for you.

Isn't it amazing what being nice will get you?

Yeah man ...the only reason I shared the story is because it seems to me to be quite rare when you find a customer service person who cares and combine it with a consumer who does not feel entitled, throw in some mutual human decency, a smile and some civil conversation.....and you end up with something positive. I repeat positive. Crazy how some of the smallest things can make your day and reaffirm your faith that the world is not totally full of Dbags.

Jafels, i had a very similar experience with verizon customer service that entailed them removing a $70 dollar charge from my bill and they didnt hesitate at all (just needed manager approval) from that point forward i vowed to stick with them for a LONG time.

Good customer service goes A LONG way. I wish the other carriers would catch on.

That's awesome... I have a feeling this would have played out differently here in Albuquerque. Lol
