Possible new Droid Charge launch date - 5/3/2011

Confrimed. Both stores said the phone is not selling yet. I asked if it might be later today, or tomorrow and the only response is "We do not know whent he launch will be".

Thanks for the update, this gets stranger by the day. Starting to think the phone will be vaporware lol

Its definately NOT vaporware! Best Buy took it out of the box yesterday and let me see it (but not with battery installed), just wont sell them.
I went to VZW after best buy and the manager let me see the phone WITH the battery installed, but also would not sell or give a sale date.

They are there! They are in the damn stores collecting dust for no apparent reason othe than the fact the rumored T-Shirts to be sold with them have not arrived.

My experience would be ruined if I went to buy the Charge and the employees were not wearing an awesome Droid Charge shirt. I hope thats not the cause of the delay lol. But no the phone is real as a few of us have it. If anyone in the Baltimore area wants to know where I got mine let me know. They had no problem selling it to me.

I would be really upset if I went to buy the Charge and they were not wearing the tshirt. Hey I got an idea, go in with paper that says Charge and say pin this to your shirt so you can sell me the phone. Think this would work?

i heard the charge comes with unlimited Tethering, is that true and does anyone know if the Boinic will come with the same feature?

I had not heard that, but the ThunderBolt has a 2 month trial on unlimited tethering from March 17th - May 15th. Its possible the Charge will get a similar trial window. I use a Mac and I can say the tethering was a joke. It failed at connections, decent speeds and I had to delete the profile everytime I wanted to reconnect. I'm sure it works better on Windows since no one seems to develop decent Mac related drivers. Still evaluating this phone vs a return to the TB or wait for the DX2 or Droid 3.

I think i saw a promo poster that said it is free tethering with the phone until May 15th. being that we are almost two weeks behind on the launch that might be extended. I think Verizon is trying to lure people in and get them hooked so that we pay for the service after the free trial.
