What he said, but mostly battery life and the fact I can't see the screen outside. I work outside here in Southern California so I can't be tied to a charger and they have yet to make a hood for outdoor viewing.

you mean besides
  • poor battery life
  • brick weight
  • jump through hoops to root
  • dull screen
  • random reboots
  • notification bugs
  • sms bugs
  • designed for leftys
  • poor speaker phone

Some people just have different taste ya know

That is an interesting perspective considering how most all the tb forum goers GUSH about their phone :p

You're certainly not alone in these issues. Many of those that decided to keep the phone either overlooked them or found them to be acceptable. Different strokes.....

You could always return it, Cancel the upgrade fall back to your original plan. This should still allow you to upgrade 1 more time. Go to best buy and pay a little more for the phone but they will give you a 30 day return policy, but after the 14th day you can't cancel your contract but you can exchange your phone up until the 30th day. Hope this helps. May want to confirm it with them first. This is the info my local BB gave me.

I was told by a Verizion Rep that they only launch phones on Thursdays. Not sure if that is true so here is hoping for this Thursday

I got a Bolt on launch day and returned it to go back to a Droid X.

I got fed up with 3G and got a Bolt at Best Buy last Thursday. I triple-confirmed with the rep that I had 30 days to exchange, and he said 'yep, definitely'. My response was 'okay, you'll see me when the Charge comes out'.

I've been on the fence, but I'm getting the charge. The Bolt is just so...inefficient. Its big, its heavy, its battery sucks, and the processor can barely keep up with Sense. I took my phone off the charger at 11:30 today and it was down to 70% by 2. It then dropped to 48% by 5. (all this was on 3G mind you) That just isn't good enough.

I would be careful with this, I think when he means exchange, it's a exchange for the same phone not a different one. At least that's my experience with it when I got my incredible last year from BB.

I was wondering about that too. VZW's newer policy is 14 days and they allow one phone swap.

You're allowed one exchange per Verizon to a different device. Per best buy you have 30 days to do the exchange, but you can't return it without paying an ETF past 14 days. They cannot deny you an exchange for a different device, because Verizon allows their customers to swap out once within the 14 days.

Since its pretty late in the day, and not a peep out of anywhere, I'm sure we can agree, its not gonna be this week.

So what do you think they are doing? Waiting for a Gingerbread update to be ready, or is it really just network fixes that need to be in place? Or maybe it's just hard for Verizon to get all the stakeholders coordinated for another release date?

Maybe they are helping the govt decide whether to release bin ladens dead picture?

I really wish they'd at least release some official announcement as to why the delay or at least put it back up on the site as a pre-order..this indefinite delay doesn't sit well.

This is insanity! They already have plenty of these devices out. Many employees and most retailers have at least one activated model, they've given out working units on contests, and a handful of people have already been able to get them from a few retailers. AFAIK, all of these phones, once activated, are working fine with no problems. So why in the world is this phone not officially available yet??
