Possible Picture Confirming 8/4?

Here's hoping it's real but there really is no way to tell unless Droid Life or another blog can confirm the information on the leaked pic with one of their contacts. It has some detailed information on it so it shouldn't be too hard to dispute or confirm.

To be honest, when has Verizon EVER had a phone on the floor before the actual release date? I always walked in a day or two before release date and they would never show it to me. Maybe they're changing that with the Bionic and plan to have it on display, like that picture from a Verizon store showing a "Coming soon" placard on a blank phone: http://www.androidcentral.com/droid-bionic-coming-soon

Its quite possible that the stores are being sent the phones early so they can figure out how they want to display them, get 'em all unboxed and on the shelves in back prior to the extremely busy release date. Though the wording in that 'memo' seems to suggest they can display them early. Sure wish someone from VZW would chime in.

Trust me, I WANT it to be real. But with everything we have had so far, I do not want to put too much into it. Can only hold out for so long. I don't know how but I seem to keep pulling my OG Droid back from the grave (2 times no display, 3/4 times buttons not functioning, many times unresponsive LCD, etc...)

Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

The display may will likely be a dummy phone. It says that they get the actual devices on 8/1 which they would keep behind the counter until 8/4. Of course assuming this is real.

It says "display models" not dummy models. Could be a real device on the floor.

My assumption is the Display model will be the one that the Retailers will use for training the in store sales people... Get the phone charged up and hands on time for your floor salesman so they are somewhat familiar with the phone before they put it on the shelf for the public to buy.

They clearly state:

do not put these models out for display

Well, maybe thats WHY it looks like the Moto Xoom 4g update.... it came out first and was easily copied. Just playing devils advocate. I think its real which is why i'm going to call and harass verizon tomorrow already

I 100% agree with you. Just my opinion has been August 4th release date, ever since we saw the FCC documents that are withheld from the public until August 7th. Just doesn't make sense they would release the Bionic after that date, unless they push back the confidentiality date, which is entirely possible.

Notice the pic on this article has the Verizon logo there. Not that it couldn't have easily been put there but just pointing it out because it wasn't there on the pic on Twitter.

Stores, at least corporate stores, don't usually get to decide how to display the phones. Marketing gives them the display items and layouts.

For me, I just see too many formatting inconsistencies, with the biggest being a different font, from the Xoom document. Usually these kinds of documents are produced using a template that is tightly controlled by marketing.

Sadly, I have to side with fake on this one.

On a side note my boss emailed our Verizon rep for our company and asked her about the Bionic release date or info as we are planning to order about 20 or so phones right away, I'll post if i hear anything worthy.

in wich case, you are still correct. the inter-company communications are still web-based. and since it's inter-company, there's no reason to be choosey about fonts or styles (or apparently spelling as far as this example is concerned). Note the "Logout" X at the top left. I think there is a definite likelihood that this is legit.
