Possibly a future OnePlus 9 owner...

Alright Oneplus 9 Pro in the house. First impressions are good (which always is for any phone ).

Love the color and finish of yours. When I pre-ordered OnePlus didn't have either model in stock so I just went through TMo. I got the Morning Mist b/c they're not selling the green. It's really nice, but slippery. Nothing a clear skin won't mitigate though. I went through sopiguard b/c it was one of the only options I could find when I ordered. I'm also a little bummed that the US model didn't come with a pre-installed screen protector like in other regions. Also on OnePlus' own site they're only selling a screen protector for the regular 9 for some reason.

That's probably just the T-Mobile model, my US unlocked direct from OnePlus did come with the screen protector pre installed. Also I thought I did see the OnePlus glass screen protector when I had pre ordered, can't remember since I'm not a screen protector user. Could be they went out of stock and they might sell again. Not sure.

That case tho. Holy. I just got my Oneplus 8t and omg. It's one of the best phones I've ever owned.

I agree.. my Oneplus 8T is my first Oneplus phone and i really do like it. It's fast, responsive, performs well when I need it to. This makes me wonder if I should trade it in for the Oneplus 9 pro since the only thing lacking on the 8T is camera quality.

Is the 9 pro camera MUCH better than the 8T to constitute a switch? Thoughts?

I've not used the 8T, but have the 8 (non-Pro). The camera on the 9 Pro seems miles above the 8.

Have you checked out the OnePlus 9 photos sub-forum? Those photos are AMAZING! I can't wait to see what the OP 9 can do with fur and pets!

I ordered directly from OnePlus (the 9 Pro). It has been at 'shipping' from City of Industry for three days. Logistics problem, maybe?

I was going to get a 9 Pro to replace my 8 pro but after giving it a lot of thought I decided not to for one specific reason. They took away dual SIM in the 9 Pro. One of the big attractions to OnePlus for me was dual SIM. I run an AT&T carrier in one and T-Mobile in the other. Where one doesn't have service, the other does, and you get 5G/Wi-Fi calling with the T-Mobile SIM. You can buy a dual SIM tray and use it in the 9 Pro, but conflicts happen when using the same IMEI for two different carriers/phone numbers. Switching between the two SIMs is more complicated as well. I use one SIM for calls, and will run data through the other most of the time because the T-Mobile SIM gets 5G connectivity which is light years faster than LTE through AT&T service in my area. The only reason I haven't switched to T-Mobile totally is because their coverage isn't as good as AT&T where I live. I hope they bring back dual SIM with the 10 Pro, and do away with the stupid curved display. It isn't as bad on the 8 Pro as on other makers devices (looking at you, Samsung!) but I hate it. When I worked for AT&T, one of the main complaints about Android devices was the curved display. I despise it and hope the OnePlus 10 series makes the Pro without it.

It has finally made it into Houston. It is shipping through DHL. The delivery date is Friday, but it is looking more like Thursday, now.

Phone arrived today. So smooth! Stupid question. So it comes with a screen protector on it or just a protective film???

I can't decide if I should peel what's on there off?

That is amazing that it came and that you love it! Yay! I *thought* it was a screen protector, but now I'm not sure. Have you Googled YouTube reviews of the device? Maybe they could show you whether or not your model (depending on region, carrier, etc) comes with a screen protector or a film coating.

The 'film' on the screen is on SO WELL. I might keep it awhile to see if it gets scratched easily. I'll watch YouTube videos. This is unlocked and AT&T (I know, not the greatest). Anyone care to answer any questions?

Seems you can't select a different 'ringtone' for phone, email, text, ... I downloaded ringtones YEARS ago of a British girl saying, "You have a text message", "You have a phone call"...

Anyone know?

I found one video where the guy mentions it comes with a screen protector installed and he'd be removing it / not leaving it on. I'll probably remove it, as well.

If you going to settings and then sound you could choose what ringtone you want when phone calls come in. I know I've also changed my text messages jingle to be something other than stock. It's definitely possible to do what you are looking to do.

I don't know how, but I got my text message notification changed. I uploaded a couple of nightime shots of Halloween. Camera is very good. It does seem to 'filter' the photo slightly, not as accurate a photo as I'd prefer, but I'm no photographer and don't care. I take maybe 20 pictures a month, if that. Screen is excellent. Very smooth scrolling. Hasn't gotten hot on me. Between my little Pixel 3 (three years old) and this, the battery is AMAZING! Truly stellar. You can guess I'm not a power user. I have a clear case on it now. Why put a black case on a silver phone? I'm hoping for a bumper style case with the back open and I'll be thrilled.

Still working on how to unlock a way for me. Double tap screen and hold my thumb down? Double tap and it does face recognition? I'm used to putting my index finger behind my Pixel and it's on. Wish I just had to touch my finger once on the sensor.

Great phone FOR ME.
