Possibly Delayed until March?

I'm getting the TBolt. I want an LTE phone on Verizon and this is it. If I have to wait a little longer, I don't care. I'll get it on a 1 year contract so that I can upgrade next year to whatever new thing is out there (quadcore?).

Exactly. I still don't understand the appeal of the Atrix. It's not LTE so there's nothing different about it from the other phones except for the dual core processor.

Supposed faster HSPA speeds. It hasn't produced from what has been shown. I'd much rather have a phone that can actually work on a true next generation network.

If I were an AT&T customer I would be really mad right now because they aren't getting on the ball with LTE and now that they have been playing T-Mobile's "HSPA+ is 4G" game, I would be worried that they are willing to push LTE implementation back all while Verizon is clearly trying to speed up LTE implementation.

I will wait for the T Bolt.
They just upgraded Metro Detroit to LTE. It's the first market to get an upgrade since the initial install of LTE since last year.

I can wait...and I have no desire to test/use another Motorola phone, or go backwards with a Dinc (albeit, the dinc is a great phone, it just doesn't have features I'd use/need like the Tbolt.)

i'm kind of ok if it gets pushed back to March b/c that's when Sprint is expected to announce the Evo2--and if it beats the TB in specs then i might have to stay...

if the TB gets released earlier, then i know i'll get impulsive and take a rather long lunch break to get one :)

I really hope the Tbolt is released next week. If not my contract is technically not up until March 14 anyway. The more it gets delayed, the better chance of a verizon rep moving up my new every 2 date for me.

Doesn't matter to me to be honest. I don't have a deadline as to when should I get a new phone.

It comes when it comes, but one thing is for sure - I will not waste my current upgrade on a non-LTE phone.

That is how I feel as well. The way I see it, it's either TB or the next LTE device, probably the Bionic. I became eligible for the NE2 credit on 12/27, and I have until 6/27 to use it. My contract expires on 4/27.

I will wait for the TBolt. It is coming soon. This is how phone releases go. Some of us went through this exact same thing with our DInc's last year. Nothing but rumors at CES... More rumors at MWC... and finally, right after CTIA... BAM! Our patience was rewarded with a phone that truly was a "Flagship Device" in our hands. I don't see any difference with this release and with that of the DInc.

Bottom line is there are way too many moving parts to pin down a day more than say a week out and not piss off a lot of people when sh!t happens... Imagine if they said the "14th" for example and a huge ice storm hits the week before and half of the stores across the country don't get their shipments? They didn't see it coming when they announced the release... do they release anyway? Or do they wait until everyone has the phones and say, "Here it is, come and get it!"? Hmmm.......

Hmmm....

a laptop dock (with rebate) that still cost more than the phone (with rebate),...

a sweet ass screen that's pentile matrix, that's the same as claiming your 720p TV as having 1080p resolution...

802.11n , really, wow, I guess you didn't read the specs on the TB...

HSPA speeds, really, I guess you haven't experience the fast 3Mbps speed of AT&T network that they call "4G"...

meh...

I didn't say the TB wasn't a great device... but people who can't understand why anyone would want a Atrix needs to take a step back. The Atrix is a fine phone and the "3Mbps speed" is going to more than fast enough for most applications and considering that no one has even really evaluated Verizon's 4G LTE handset speed in a formal way, we're making the assumption it's going to rock.

atrix is a fine phone, but not for the reasons you listed.

Laptop dock at the price they are asking is a joke. Sweet ass screen? I'll have to see one, but i'll take 4.3" over 4.0" even with slightly lower resolution. 802.11n? Thunderbolt, Droid X, iPhone and many other phones have 802.11n. Are you perhaps referring to it is dual band and will work on the 5ghz band as well as 2.4?

I was with AT&T and initially was drooling over the Atrix. But the hardware wasn't a big enough sell for me when they are just rebranding their 3g network and calling it 4g. I'm in an area with solid 4g coverage so the Thunderbolt and Verizon are a no brainer for me.

Dealbreakers for me:
No LTE compatibility
Blur
Locked Bootloader
2gb data cap
screen size

It is still a beast of a phone, but my only reasons for picking it over the Thunderbolt would be the additional RAM and dual core. If it was an LTE device I might still pick it, but as is I'm going Thunderbolt, and maybe Bionic afterwards.

I saw the "One Mississippi,Two Mississippi" Thunderbolt ad last night. Says "coming soon" at the end so I'm betting the 24th is launch day. We should see the Thunderbolt in this Sunday's BB ad. ;)

You know what worries me about this new TB ad? that when it first popped up on youtube the day after Superbowl it used to say " FEBRUARY " now it says "coming soon " .... I hope it didnt pushed till march

I'm just pointing out facts. Fact is the TB is a phone that will be operating on a much faster network than the Atrix will. And fact is "no one has even really evaluated (AT&T 4G) handset speed in a formal way". Engadget posted some of their speed test and the result was hugely disappointing, but that's about as "formal" as it gets with internet sites. And given how AT$T hasn't even upgraded their network, I doubt that any phone on their network will be able to browse the web faster than Verizon's 4G branded phones. Fact is, if you want just the phone, then it's a great value for a Dual Core phone. But all the peripherals makes it not worth it (for me) given the high pricing.

Fact is, I'll be buying the TB for the proven HTC soft/hardware,and the promised fast and stable speed of Verizon's "4G" network. And I don't really care if people wants to buy a fast phone on a slow network.

First time poster but have followed the thunderbolt hype for some time now. I'm as anxious as the next person for this phone so I decided to call a bunch of verizon stores to see if I could get some info. This is what they told me.

1) he said today then put me on hold. When he came back he said sorry we don't have a date. (maybe they got a shipment in today?)

2) 3 different stores said the 24th of Feb

3) 1 Store said between the 24th and 26th.

4) 1 store said by the end of the month.

All signs are pointing to the 24th.
Time will tell

I had a Wireless Zone tell me they heard the 17th, not until I left did I realize that today was the 17th. I don't think they realized it either.

droid life says its pushed to the 28th if not later.
droid life says about every third day. While I visit droid life for info, I dont take it as the gospel. HTC and VZW are the only two that you should listen to. And VZW probably has more sway than HTC. Just keep an eye on verizonwireless.com/thunderbolt. Thats about the best you can do for info really.

plus, droid-life is only getting it from other sites. not a personal source

The X2 should be here soon. (hopefully) The current X is fantastic, minus the locked boot loader.
I wish I could wait that long. If I can't exchange by the 25th for the Thunderbolt I'll have to either stick with the iPhone or get a Droid x.

just wanted to egg on the guy that seems to be waiting for a heart transplant, and not just a device that will allow him to call his momma

I saw on a facebook profile it said it was gonna be released March 21st.
But I dont wanna believe that.
