You guys will not use speech to text that much after you see how frustrating it can be. I've shut it off on my Nexus One.

Sweet, this makes STT something that i'm super excited for.

Not much of 2.1 gets me that excited but: 5 homescreens, Browser Pinch-To-Zoom, and Native Speach-To-Text, Are definitely the prominent features. with a little battery life on top.

Does anyone have any information regarding the "Enhanced Virtual Keyboard" functionality rolling out with 2.1? Rumor or actual experience from anyone who installed the leaked version of 2.1 that is circulating is greatly appreciated. I searched this forum and the web and have not found anything more than "Enhanced Virtual Keyboard". I am a Droid newbie (bb convert) and am really struggling with all of the Droid's keyboards. I am hoping 2.1 makes my life easier.

I am done with all the waiting. I'm just happy with a stock Droid. Lol

I totally agree. It is funny, I have tried multiple home screen replacements, but continually revert back to the stock home screen. I am just used to its speed and simplicity. I am looking forward to the improved gallery and news and weather widget. I know they are available now, but I can wait. Cheers!

I reverted back to stock 2.0.1 with just the root so I could use the screen shots, and honestly I am loving the appearance and all. It works like a charm and I am stable as can be

The update doesnt thrill me, but I guess it can bring some nice features. Maybe with the delay they will add something better to it

I need a stable droid also I can't wait anymore what's the latest on 2.1? I keep going back and forth from sholes to stock...sholes seems to be pretty stable for me and I like the speed even though I was only running it at 600mHz it still had a nice little zip to it

Couldnt agree more. Although I was very stable on Pete's older ROM's, but then just decided to go back to the stock one. It has proven to be a great decision on my part. I love it.

Apparently someone on twitter claims they have gotten the official 2.1 update and installed it on their Droid. They didnt get it OTA, they got it and loaded it through the computer.

I highly HIGHLY doubt this to be official. $10 says that this was the release they almost released but didn't. And the real release won't be too light on abilities, both cosmetic, and function.

Everything looked pretty snappy on there. I still think this isn't the official version though. I thought we were suppose to get ere29 or something like that. Bill23 over at howardforums said that at first it was supposed to be ere25 then ere29 but since it got delayed he doesn't know what we'll get now.
