Post All Eris 2.1 Update Rumors, News, and Updates HERE

With verizon getting ready for the nexus launch on VZ.. who's to say their folks are even looking at 2.x anymore...

Remember, Verizon is not actually SELLING the Nexus One; you won't find them in the stores. They will not need to repair them if they break. You buy them from Google, you get service from Verizon. We've already seen how confusing T-Mobile customers have had with Nexus One problems. I'm not sure that Verizon is spinnig cartwheels over this. I'm willing to be that they'd rather get you in the store to buy a Droid than buy a Nexus One from Google and call Verizon to activate it.

Actually.. your point makes more sense.
i do feel bad for the early adopters on T-mobile and Everyone's lack of support

Lets hope for a 2.x release then! :)

The Eris is quite neat but the lack of bluetooth dialing is becoming a serious handicap. Since we have no guarantee from Verizon that OS 2.1 (and voice dialing from BT) will be here anywhere in the near future, Verizon should give Eris customers an extended return time just in case we never see 2.1. I cannot keep the Eris without BT working; my return time is approaching in a week.

i don"t get the lack of bluethooth dialing, the eris works fine with my ford sync.

you're better off just returning it now, and upgrading to a different phone that does have that capability, or just waiting for a confirmation. VZW won't extend a return window for a feature they have no control over. sorry, that's just the reality of the situation.

Actually , they did extend it , its a holiday extension , so you have already got one :) , and dont worry , it will get sense 2.1 and android 2.1

And did the Magical Faries tell you this?

There has been NOTHING official about 2.1, Nothing official about 2.0
There was a "2.x" Who's to say it won't be 2.2?

Just speculating here. Im happy with 1.5 as it is, phone works great.. I miss my bluetooth dialing, that's all.

That's true but it was confirmed that we will get some kind of android 2.x in the first quarter of 2010. So just hopefully it will be sooner then later.

I in the end would rather it all be ready, then half baked. So I'll remain patience. I just want Goggles, and Nav.

I really like my Eris but I'll probably pick up the Nexus One when it's released for Verizon. Sense is OK, I just don't like waiting for HTC to release updates for it.

i agree with you mpaquette. I like my eris but would like a bigger screen. I will either get a droid or the nexus. I figure you can get a droid for pretty cheap ($300). I might get the nexus if the one for verizon is better than the one on t-mobile. It is really bugging. I guess because it is first generation.

I think i'm going to ditch my eris for the palm pre plus.

Once HTC has ported Sense over to 2.x it should release updates relatively fast from there. NexusOne is by HTC, but it doesn't have the sense ui so there is no issue from the get go.

could we have plain old 2.0 on our eris? I tired of waiting for the sense.

I'll prolly buy the nexus one unless it has some retarded plan requirement or something. But I like the sense, so ill keep the eris close by.

Possible Update

This is really third hand news that I have no idea about, but my mom told me she went in to verizon to ask some questions about her eris and the people told her that there's going to be an update in two weeks. Not sure if it'll be the 2.1 update or if there's also going to be an update for the droid (I'm hoping so cuz that's what I have) but I guess we'll hear more about this soon if it's true.
