+1... or 2.
I'm with you, just a better battery and upgrade software.....
Not gonna lie... not really excited about 2.0 on the Eris. I dont think it has the power to run it. Mine is sluggish running 1.5 and I only use a hand full of apps. I dont think the battery could handle it either. The Eris just doesnt have the power for it. Also I think HTC is more focused on the next device which comes with 2.0 preinstalled. And word on the street is that its coming in Dec.
This almost defies logic, seeing as the front page of Android Central confirms that 2.0 has been ported to the G1 and all reports have said that it is much faster. Not sure how it would run slower on a faster phone. If you think that your Eris is running slowly, you might want to try disabling some of your widgets. Remember, the Eris runs the Sense UI, which Android 2.0 does not.
eris and the droid have just about the same processor, speeds should be the same on both. have heard that sense ui does slow it down a little bit.
Is the 2.0 update definite?
How poor is this battery - and can an update fix battery life?
I hope this helps bring clarity to the rumors as well as the suspicions you may have with your products and your equipment.

Verizon Crop Relations
Hello,
My name is Cameron Church, I am a representative from Verizon in the Wireless division.
I wanted to clear up some rumors as well as inform you about the Android OS product lines that Verizon supports like the MOTOROLA DROID, and the HTC ERIS. Now I hear a lot of " No the ERIS cannot run 2.0", or " it will never get it". I cannot speak for other providers and thier supporting models. But can confirm that HTC ERIS will be updated with the 2.0 Android operating system. The reason it was not released with it before was due to the phones time of release which was before Motorola DROID. The HTC ERIS will in time be getting a updated version that is specified for the ERIS and other smart phones that are not up to specifications that the DROID supplied for ANDROID 2.0.
ANDROID 2.0 was not designed for ERIS please remember that, but will be updated to that release, its only a matter of time so keep looking for updates from Verizon, as well as your accredited websites such as the official Android Website.
I hope this helps bring clarity to the rumors as well as the suspicions you may have with your products and your equipment.
