Download Astro from the market. Then save the .zip to the SD card. Move file from download folder n put in main folder. Then power down, hold end and volume up. Make sure u nanbackup too before u flash the file.e It's pretty much the same as first rooting ur phone. Make sure u wipe the dev catch n factory wipe too before install. Then flash the .zip.....

how does astro help? i already have the files on my sd card. when i hold power and volume up i dont get those options.

No. And with Verizon's track record their system cannot handle pushing out the Droid and the Eris update at the same time. AFAIK, The Droid update is still rolling out.

My only regret about updating to 2.1 is now the Calorie Counter app by Fat Secret no longer works. I can download it onto a Moto Droid that was upgraded to 2.1, what gives?

i doubt this we have the not much better phone of verizons androids so i doubt ours will be better im pretty sure we wont get live wallpapers which i was looking forward to so badly sure it would kill the battery but thats why i have two of them i have not used both yet in one day so give me a reason to have two batterys

its a protected app probably and therefore won't be available till vzw makes the update official

very easy... as with the skype app, just google the apk file install it manually and you've got the protected app. Thats how I get skype on my leaked 2.1
