Anyone know how I can create a shortcut to add my phone contact favorites directly on the home screen?

There is a Widget you can add, there's one for 9 people, and for 3. Long press on the home screen, and add widget.

I believe it is long press on homescreen, folder, starred or favorites, I can't remember which one.

Has anyone else noticed that you can't send some contacts to voicemail anymore in 2.1??? I loved this for certain people. heh

you can send them straight to voice mail i just found it they move it you can change it when you look at the contact in people

I am having to resign into google when ever I restart my phone.

Google Earth does not work.

Besides the above mentioned I am glad I upgraded. Looking forward to the VZW stable release but this is great. I love Google Voice!!!!

Yeah I had the "pinch-zoom" not working today, and also had to sign into google again. added to the list. These issues by no means bother me, I am quite content with the performance increase from 1.5, even if it is just a leak.

That's correct - just click on the contact in people... if you don't see it, scroll down. Love this feature - take that Iphone! LOL

-Calendar syncs with exchange(shows your agenda view)
-deleted shows as read, if it is read
-Out of office setting available (pulls data from server), but I haven't gotten it to actually work so its buggy.

I have folders at work set up with rules. Those folders don't get email pushed to them. Under 1.5, I had to press menu => folder => and select the folder I was looking for. Then, I would hit menu => refresh.

Under 2.1 all I have to do is select folder and it automatically refreshes.

I haven't noticed that issue. I have noticed that I'm getting better wifi range with this release though. I like that. Also of you install the 2.1 gallery app you can sync with with picasa too.
On the negative side i don't think I'm getting as good of life with the battery. Don't think its significantly worse but maybe a bit.

I haven't messed with a nexus one but from how much better the eris is with 2.1 I gotta imagine the nexus one just screams speedwise. Really makes me want one.

I applaud all those who have chosen to run this version . it's too bad verizon or HTC has not issued a beta and let us users test it out . I only hope someone from Verizon and or HTC is reading these posts before it hits the masses so they can correct READ : FIX the issues described

to my knowledge, you can't downgrade from this. I do think you can upgrade when the official comes out.

Everything seems to be working fine on my end. Although it is driving me crazy not being able to shut down the Amazon MP3 store and the others like it. I'm no expert but if there's something in there running it's got to be affecting performance.

I killed the tasks a few min's ago and just checked again, that damn Amazon app is back in there. WTF

the OS will close unused apps when it sees you need the resources.

if you never don't use the app at all, over time it should stop opening it.

How do you guys know the Amazon app is running?

My battery life is either the same, if not slightly better.

Anyone using a large Weather Channel widget and have a constant temperature in the notification bar....and know how to get rid of it??
