Post Photos Taken With Your M9!

No, I believe most people will prefer the pictures taken with an iPhone. Having said that, the difference is not big anymore. I now believe that the camera shouldn't be a reason to leave HTC, at least if you are only interested in taking pictures. If videos are important to you, then you should really look elsewhere. The M9 takes terrible videos..

How are the videos from the iPhone? The fact remains that both phones are still EIS, so the iPhones video recording should be equally terrible. If not, it would seem some improvements could be had with the M9.

It's not equally terrible. It is markedly better. Don't assume HTC can fix it just because it is software related. HTC isn't Apple.

Can and will are two different words. At least it says that something can be done and that is what I was asking. I don't really expect they will, but if HTC won't fix it, maybe the devs at XDA will. I saw somewhere posted where another user that had both phones stated the video recording on the iPhone was more cropped for better stabilization. I was wondering about the accuracy about that statement.

Ok. If you want to put it that way, HTC won't execute the EIS stabilization anywhere close to where the iPhone 6 is under any circumstances. Period.

The HTC M9 with the new base is really amazing

Those aren't auto mode point and click and have been edited with software so that wouldn't necessary be what the average consumers results would be who don't want to fiddle and diddle the camera settings.

I don't see where he made that claim. It doesn't change the fact that those pics are amazing, like he stated. It is really not that much fiddling with manual mode to get it adjusted to make really nice shots. Two or three taps in the settings menu. But you are right, most people don't bother, they just want to point and shoot. With some really decent photo editing apps available for the phone itself, I find a lot do the extra photo processing. My wife's Note 4 takes really nice pics, but she still loves to tweak her pics. From what I been seeing, even with the point and shoot, I would say that the camera is good now. No, not the best, but good enough where a high percentage of users would be happy with even the point and shoot. Now if they would fix some of the other issues.

The daylight ones are taken in RAW so point and shout but as it's a RAW I had to edit it with Lightroom on PC (and I love that)
The building photo was taken totally in point and shout and zero editing
The nightshot was taken in manual (no editing) but like Fernandez said it's as easy as point and shout.
For me the most important thing is the results, taking a RAW photo point and shout then editing easily on PC to give me awesome results (better than S6) is what matters for me

I took these shots while walking around. The outdoor pictures were taken as the sun was almost gone. All I did was tap on where I wanted the camera to focus, and no flash was used. The other pictures were taken inside a Starbucks, so I would say they're lowish light photos as well. The interesting thing about these indoor photos is that they ended up having a lot of lettering, and the detail is quite good when you zoom in. I found the color to be very accurate as well. Sharpness was also set at -1.

Edit: Pictures were not touched up in any way.

Never tap on an area to focus! The HTC's software has issues with that. Just let the auto focus work its magic and take a photo. Read more in the XDA thread. The user Hamdir explains in much better detail everything. This is not an iPhone!

I noticed Phil saying the same thing in his "take better photos with the M9" article, or whatever it was called. I remember tapping to focus was the only way to get a good shot on my M8 sometimes.

Here it's the exact opposite. Never tap to focus. Let the M9 do its job and the output will be good.

Sometimes you just need to wait a bit till the M9 focuses correctly. Unfortunately it's not as fast as other smartphones.
