Outdoor shot. It's raining in San Diego.
I'm guessing folks are looking to use strict auto mode, otherwise they'd be adjusting these settings to get the shots they want. Auto mode is nothing more than software choosing your exposure settings for you. If you're unhappy with the choices the built-in camera app makes, why not try another app?

Wow, when you enlarge that outdoor pic, everything is still so clear.
Looking good.
I can't post any because they're all of my son in his diaper but the indoor pics I took last night when I got the phone my wife looked at and said "I thought you got this because the camera was better than before? It looks the same" my old phone is the 2014 moto x and I had no hdr on and tap to focus on with no flash. There was just noise all over. But then I took the one of the cat, and this one of my son today with no flash or hdr. The cats hair around the edges gets a little soft. And my son was moving during that pic so not terrible. Outdoors its much better.

So this just arrived. Pic taken with the XPE (applied auto-HDR), which will now serve as the controller.
