Pour one out, my 3 XL died :(

Thanks. Yes, I have many apps. I use most of the maln stream Google apps. Docs, Sheets, Keep, Maps, Photos, etc. I know most are on the Cloud. Not sure about Keep, Textra, which I use heavily. My problem in understanding Backups is that if I lose all use of my Pixel, where are the backups? I think I'm over complicating the issue. I guess I'm asking if I log into my Google account with my replacement phone, will my data be there and all I need to do is log in to each account and my data will be there. Thanks for your patience.

Keep is technically part of Google Drive, and automatically syncs to the cloud. You can see it on your computer browser by going to keep.google.com.

Textra is an SMS app. As I mentioned above, your SMS messages are backed up to your Google Drive using the Google Backup system, but media from MMS messages (i.e., photos) are not.

Here's how to see what's backed up: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/6305834?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform=Android&oco=0. Using the Google Drive app on your phone, if you tap Menu>Backups, you can then select the backup for your phone. Then tap App Data to see which apps take advantage of Google Backup. Keep in mind that some apps (especially if they're older) might not use the Google Backup feature.

These backups are what Google uses to restore from when you start up a new phone (if you choose to restore from a backup). I don't think you can access them outside of the restore process.

I was just reading about the 3's dying suddenly. I use my 3xl lightly as a backup to my iphone 11 pro max. Planning on getting the pixel 6 pro when it comes out.
