Poweramp (sony z3) - won't pay .wav files

Hi Everyone hope my message finds you well, would someone please help me. I have Poweramp loaded on my Sony Z3 Compact and it won't playback .wav files or anything other than MP3's. I have some hi-end headphones and IEM's and they're wasted listening to MP3's. Can someone please explain what to do in a step by step manner, I'd be so grateful. Wishing you well.. Quentin. Welcome to Android Central! Do those wav files play normally elsewhere, like on your computer?
