I am new to android. Every time my Thunderbolt shuts off, I need to turn back on with the power button on top. Is there a way to set the screen to shut down only and I can just touch the soft home key on the bottom to turn the phone on? The power button is tough to push each time. Thanks.

Pushing the top button should just lock the screen, unless you hold it down long enough for a menu to pop up asking if you want to shut down.

If the button is unresponsive, try readjusting the battery door.

I am not pushing the power button to shut off. It is doing it on it's own. To turn back on I need to push the power button. I was hoping to just push the home key as it is touch screen and not a hard key.

Based on what I know, the only official way to turn on the screen is by using the power button. There might be an app in the market that can use some other method, but I'm not sure with this phone. There are no other standalone buttons other than the volume rocker (I don't think the capacitive buttons can be used in this aspect). Sorry I couldn't be more help, but maybe someone here knows of an app that can assist?

An app would be great. I was searching for one. Maybe someone has a suggestion they have found. I did not see anything under settings to change to home button.
