Pre-Order, Delivery, and Setup

Register your HTC Flyer pre-order by posting to this thread and keep everyone updated on your order status, delivery notifications, Flyer delivery, and impressions on setup.

I pre-ordered on 09May2011 and am guessing Best Buy will start shipping tomorrow, 20May2011.

I forget the precise date I placed my pre-order, but it was done in-store within two or three days of pre-orders going live. We'll see if Best Buy gives me a call on Sunday. Even if they do, I'll probably schedule for Monday pickup since the store is near my office.

So YK, Right now you may be our 2nd FO.

I wish I could remember who started this quasi acronym thing by referring to hummingbirdhill as HBH.:)

I preordered the first day and they gave me a $50 gift card. So, this means I just go to the store and pick it up correct? This sounds like a dumb question after I've typed. LOL

I'm not sure if you can just walk in and say "Gimme my Flyer." My local store seems to have a system set up where they call you (presumably they call people in the order that they pre-ordered, until the in-store stock runs out) and schedule an appointment for you to go in and pick up your reserved unit.

I was the first one to order at my local BB so, hopefully I will be called to pick it up on Sunday. Only one person in the store new that it could be preordered that day.

That will make you A4 and a potential FO1.:)

I'm still skeptical about the part about the pen, since nothing from the HTC US website for the Flyer directs to any part of the global site... but praying for a marketing miracle :)

I share your trepidation, YK . . . while also attempting to maintain a positive outlook. Been trying to decide whether I'll keep the Flyer if ithe scribe pen is not in the box. I've been looking at this
HTC - Products - HTC Flyer - Overview
HTC page for weeks, and the first paragraph under Overview just, well, the pen must come with this device.

Perhaps HTC was attempting to discover whether consumers consider the pen an essential part of the device--because the initial ads seemed to go one way and then the other, and neither BB or HTC reps knew whether the tab would include the pen. If that is what was occurring, I reckon HTC got the message that the device isn't considered much good w/o the pen. :)
