We'll either the OP photoshopped the one from the link or the OP "pre-ordered" in a similar fashion. Either way it's not the type of pre-order most of us are looking for from Verizon.

I trust resellers as far as I can throw them, frankly. They're bottom-feeders, IMO, and some have been known to string along buyers with promises they honestly can't fulfill, just to make a sale.

Unfortunately, there's little to differentiate one of their store-fronts from VZW's, due to the promotional materials and props VZW sends to them. So, it wouldn't surprise me if these "pre-orders" are just another way to snag unknowing customers into getting their cash early from them, and then sending their merchandise to them well after Corporate VZW starts selling their products.

I called my local store and asked if they had a date. He said they just got there store models and would check... couple seconds of mumbles in background... "yeah we don't know a date, but soon".

But I asked to reserve one and add to call list on launch info an he added me. So news is looking good.

I just called 3 stores stores 2 were resellers and 1 corp. the 2 resellers said they had no idea when it was going to be released and 1 took my number for friday. The corporate store took my number and said they will call me later this week to confirm Thursday (which they were almost certain was the date) for an appointment.

We are getting closer but still nothing is 100%

I just called my corporate store in the Chicagoland area and was told Thursday.

What about the guy who supposedly got one from a reseller weeks ago? Doubt he got it since there is nothing anywhere about it and he was supposed to get it the one monday?

Called the store in Wilkes-Barre PA....told him I saw this Galaxy Nexus phone on CNBC today and asked if they had it....he told me it was scheduled for Black Friday but got delayed. They are still hopeful for a release 'some time this year'.

I'm going to do the same. I'll be the first in line at my local Verizon store Thursday morning... just in case

I have a feeling the corporate stores will green light it Thursday and the other resellers will release it Friday.

I called my local store and got no release info. All the guy said is that they have the accessories in stock, but no phones yet and no release information is available. He was thinking it might be another week because they usually hear something by now if it was going to launch this week.

With that being said, I'll still be knocking on their door at 8am Thursday morning.

I do not believe any of this. My very reliable source says otherwise:

The phone will be at the Verizon shipping ports on 12/18, a Sunday. I don't know when pre-orders will be, but the launch will be 12/22 for stores.

I wish there was a way to have one held for me I won't be able to get to a Verizon store till around 1-2 Friday.

Just called my local store again. Spoke with a rep who set an appointment with me to come in and pick up my new Nexus first thing Friday morning. I probably won't sleep the night before so I'm sure I'll be there an hour or so early with a couple of cigars and podcasts to keep me entertained.

I might just swing by a retail store on the way home from work Thursday, try to get one then. I'll feed 'em a line that I'll be on assignment in the boonies for a week starting on Friday morning, so I'd really, really like to get the phone before I leave.

For whatever its worth I called a Verizon store in an upscale part of "Atlanta" and they said they had a demo in but hadnt activated it yet and wasnt sure when they would go on sale but 'soon'
