During my lunch I drove over to my local store and spoke to the manager. He claimed to have absolutely zero information. I asked if I could put my name down for a "per-order" so that when the phone came out one would be waiting for me. He said that they don't do per-orders and doesn't think there will be much demand for the phone. So we talked for a bit and said if I was at the store about a half hour before opening then I would have a good chance of getting one. So I asked why so early if there wasn't demand for the phone?

I'm going to do some recon. There's a corporate store a block or two away from me. Might be better than a phone call.

Called my local just now. Lady answered told me it would be 12/9 on release. Said they had none in store at the moment however they should have a truck coming late Wed night or thursday morning to call her back then and see what they got stock wise. I plan on talking them into a Thursday sale for me, if not I'll be up there Friday!

How much more confirmation do you need??? I posted this & had it verified.....Atleast in Memphis, they will be released on 12/8

I called and spoke with an agent at that store and he did confirm they would have them in stock and on sale Thursday morning.

I need someone to call & confirm my Validity on this post, since I see there are doubters. If possible just ask them "If you can come in on 12/8 and purchase the Galaxy Nexus" instead of saying you saw it on the forums. Preferably someone who is due an upgrade or adding a line..

The Verizon store is in Memphis on Union Ave. number (901)-278-2355 once they give menu choices hit option 3

Same story everywhere I call in central Indiana....We know it is coming soon, they haven't given us a release date, we know it should be soon, this week or next week, blah, blah, blah,

Can I have your number and I will call you when I know something.

The last lady said she did get an e-mail today with training information and saying that they might be getting calls this week on it. She said I will be the first to know when she does, do I believe that....

Just called another store, same story, except he said the have a Demo I can play with.

Just called my store and pretended like I wanted to switch from At&t and the rep said that they don't have any release date for the Nexus yet.

I even tried telling her I am just calling to confirm because another Verizon called me letting me know that it will be available friday, but their specific location was closer and more convenient.

Anyway, hope it gets released this week.

Yup, my local corporate store is staying tight lipped. The Rep said check back Thursday though.

No luck in Md or DC for me. Tried Bowie, Mitchellville and the store on F street. I am off Thursday (my birthday). I will be scouting around.

No luck in the Baltimore area, either. It may just be that this side of the country hasn't gotten their shipments yet. Or they're bound and determined to not tell us anything. I will say that I'm pretty sure a store around here has them when I was there last night, but they are certainly not going to tell me anything. Even when I asked if their SME was in the store.

Anyway, she doesn't have any info on it yet either, but did say she was just discussing it with someone else and admitted she doesn't really know anymore (probably even less) than we do right now. I told her about other people getting calls and she seemed baffled.

And none of them are going to tell you because they are around other employees and will get in trouble so you are just wasting your time by asking when its for sale

I still don't believe any store level employee has any idea when the release will be, the ones that are giving dates are just guessing.
