Was there any reason to believe today was the announcement?
Up until this point, Sprint usually announces a new phone 2 weeks prior to its' release.
Absolutley! I purchased a Seidio Active(with kickstand) Case eight weeks ago in anticipation of the Sprint GNEX. Pumped and ready to go. Always loved the Seidio Active on my Nexus S.

Hey, that's the one I got! Hopefully it will fit the 2100 mAh extended battery I want to get.
I want the Galaxy Nexus. Coming fro a htc evo 3d and choosing the G-Nex over EVO 4G LTE.
I'm trying to think of a really strong reason to do so. The potential for timely updates just doesn't seem enough. Especially since devs are going to custom rom the hell out of the EVO LTE

I agree with you. The upgrade challenges with the nexus s has left me with a very bad taste in the mouth. We can't assume that nexus devices will definitely be upgrade as soon as possible. Sad

IIMPORTANT QUESTION: Is rooting your Android phone a security risk? Security is really important to me, but if rooting doesn't change that aspect, I'm greatly tempted to desert the Nexus fold for the cutting edge specs of the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

1. The Nexus S/Nexus S 4G update snafu was hopefully an anomaly. If Google's mobile division has an ounce of sense, they'll have learned a few things from all this and will presumably perform much better updating the Galaxy Nexus to Jelly Bean. Obviously, it will be harder to upgrade Sprint's and Verizon's CDMA versions than the GSM version, but they'll need to save face after this whole Nexus S debacle.
Side note: I've heard that the Nexus S 4G ICS update has started to roll out. I know some of you have one; any news on that front?
2. Do we really have an iPhone user in our midst? *panic alarm goes off
Please tell me you're one of those multi-device users.
