Hello. I am new to the forum and also new to anything resembling a smartphone, so I'm sorry if what I ask is really obvious. Up until 10 days ago, I had an 8-9 year old Nokia dumb phone... so yeah, I am overwhelmed a bit.

I finally figured out how to turn on predictive text when messaging (never texted until 10 days ago either...lol) and was happy with it for several days. It only changed things if they were glaringly wrong or if I selected a change from the list of choices.
But, all of a sudden today, it is changing just about everything I type. Even when I type a common word like "now" it changes it to "noel" without asking or giving me a list to choose from. Any idea what I have inadvertantly changed to make this happen? Or how I can change back to just the stock keyboard with no predictive text on at all? Or, are there any apps you'd recommend for this situation?

PS- As a new member to the forum, I already have to say thanks! I was having battery life issues and several threads here recommended JuiceDefender (and uninstalling my app killer) and it's made a huge difference already. Without it I was normally down to 80% by 11:00am... now it's 4:00pm and I am just now down to 80%.

Hello,

A quick suggestion is to check what the input language is. A friend changed mine on me and I was getting the same results, i.e. words were being replaced by what i clearly didn't type.
