I love my One X, first Andriod I have owned, but I am having major issues with the predictive text and auto correct system. I can type hello and it auto changes it to hell. It changes the word car because it doesn’t recognize it. Pretty much every single common word you can think of gets auto changed to something else in every text. Stuff like yes, goodbye, there, etc

What makes it worse it I can’t turn off predictive text or auto correct. The option is there but it’s grayed out and not selectable.

I love this phone but this is the sole issue I have run into that makes me want to take back the phone and go back to Windows Phone. Anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to have to buy an app just to do something as basic as texting, but I suppose that is better then taking the phone back.

SwiftKey X is my favorite but AI Type is very good as well. Swype is good and the voice dictation is great since they bought Nuance

Found this which WORKED!! :D
How to turn off Predictive Text on an HTC One X ? Madame Wong
The trick is to go back to the Settings – Language & Keyboard – HTC Sense Input screen and toggle off Trace. Then move to Advanced Settings and click off Spell Correction and then Word Prediction.* Voila, no more auto correct mishaps.

*If you turn off Word Prediction first, it greys out Spell Correction which is then still on.

Get SwiftKey pro like everyone is saying! So much better and worth the 3 dollars.

Re: Predictive Text problems, and poor camera quality

I agree, what the hell is wrong with HTC One predictive text?
I have previously had 2 HTC phones which were perfect at predictive text now I nearly throw my phone into the wall every time I write a text.

Massive failure by HTC, alos the camera on the HTC One is not all it's cranked up to be. Massively dissapointed in it. When u blow the photos up, all the pixels have blurry edges.

Otherwise it is a top notch phone, but I thought since HTC were marketing this as a state of the art phone they would get 2 of the most basic features right.
