preloaded apps-in the way?

so, basically apps like nascar and the nfl channel are useless to me and I want to delete them, but I cant figure out how? ive gone into my manage apps section and can view their data and such, but when I try to click force stop nothing happens.. and when i touch the app itself and move it to the remove area its still there. any ideas lovies?

Pre-loaded apps are protected so won't let you delete them. If you don't have their widgets on the home screen and don't manually run them they should take any resources except space. To delete them you would need root access to the phone.

Okay, if we have a rooted phone how do we get rid of them?

adb shell
$ su
# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
# cd /system/app
# ls

then continue with # rm [insert filename here].apk and/or .odex to remove the app you want.
