Preorders starting tomorrow? (Nov 29th)

Okay... so I have to ask the obvious.... why would you NOT Pre-order online....?

If you can pre-purchase ahead of time, from the comfort of your house and have a guaranteed phone and probably receive it on or near the release date... is there a downside...?

I don't know if it's always true... but if you order online, and there's an issue, you have to deal with exchanges, repairs, etc. online. With some stores, if you buy in the store and there's a problem, they'll make the exchange or deal with it right there, and may or may not deal with an online bought phone.

Just something to consider.

If you buy online from verizon you can take it in store if you have any problems..

The preorder sounds like another rumor, but I'd be shocked if this phone was 199.99 instead of 299.99. Both the razr and the rezound are 299.99, don't see how this would be any different.

So I just called customer service and asked about the GN being able to be pre-ordered tomorrow and was told that they don't have information as to when or if it will be pre-ordered....which is what I expected. But what was cool was the woman I talked to was so excited about the phone herself. She said that she was trained on it about a week ago and started telling me how awesome the phone is...lol. She said that Verizon is being real tight lipped about it and no one knows when they are going to drop it. Then she goes online while we're talking and see's the same rumors about pre-orders starting tomorrow....hehe. So nothing new but its cool that like other people have said that they have been trained on this thing. I told her that i just got a Razr and I wanted to return it when the GN comes out and she told me to call up and pre-order when its available and they will send me the GN and I can just send them back the Razr. So fingers crossed for tomorrow.................AGAIN!

for me there is since I have to play musical accounts. My aircard is up for renewal. My other two lines are not. So I have always gone into the store so they can play the "screw around with the accounts game" to use the upgrade of the air card but transfer it to the phone line.

I just picked up the Rezound on Saturday because I dropped my DX and it broke. I must say it’s an AMAZING PHONE! But I will exchange it for the Nexus. So if there is a Pre-order for the G Nexus ill pass due to the fact you can’t charge the phones sale price to your account online, I won’t be able to get $50 off the phone with my employee discount and you have to wait for FedEx or UPS to deliver it and it’s now Christmas season so both UPS and FedEx is getting slammed with packages. Also this is no iPhone. Not many know about it and I’m sure our Verizon stores will have TONS of G Nexus in stock. Now I’m not hating on anyone for doing pre-order’s but maybe with what I just shared could help others decide differently 

That's one thing I am waiting for is my mifi number to expire. There are no early upgrades on that number to a smartphone unfortunately.

And you have to be home or somewhere to sign for it. I don't think they'll just leave it.

And yea, we are the only ones crazy waiting for this phone. The general public has no clue what phones are coming out and the first time they know what their options are are when they go to the store and say "I need a phone, can you help me pick one out?" to the sales rep.

I was up at Fort Campbell in KY a couple of days ago to do some Christmas shopping...anyway, the wireless desk there at the base store had the Nexus version of those fake phones they keep out for their display. (It wasn't on display, she pulled it out from underneath the counter when I asked about it) I was worried about the size of the phone, but it felt alright to me. Other stores may have those fake phones already...just not out for the public. Go check out some store by you and ask if they have one yet.

Has anyone else signed up for updates from VZW? I did almost a month ago, and I've heard nothing from them since they sent me a "thank you" for showing interest in the GNex.

Now, if this is true about tomorrow...Sorry,I don't think it will happen, then shouldn't this have been pushed out by VZW's marketing team, to those of us that took the time to register on their site for just this kind of information.

Now I'm sorry if all this waiting has gotten me a bit cynical. But I just don't think VZW is going to let a pre-order date go under the radar like this. There will be some kind of official notice from VZW sent out days in advance of any type of release.

Now I need to get back to refreshing my inbox...I don't want to miss anything.

Usually you don't get an update till after the device is released. I know it makes no sense.

You realize most of the times they do not send anything until after it is launched? I never got anything about the thunderbolt until about a month later, bionic was about a week after and there are others who got the same thing at the same time. Droid 3 launched for preorder with no announcement until the next day.
