Preorders starting tomorrow? (Nov 29th)

Did you guys see the Verizon tweet?

"If you have faith in yourself, you will accept changes easily. You won?t be afraid of who you might become. See you at 7am CST. Good night!"

Twitter

fingers crossed?

It said 7 AM because that's just when it starts tweeting again. It's just a "good night quote".

The best thing people can do on here if your pissed and need a new phone is to purchase a Razr or Rezound and return the damn thing for the GN...........and do your returns in the actual stores. :p

You do realize doing what you suggest actually costs us as the customers more?

If for some reason that actually is true and they only plan on announcing the device in December, I wonder what all the Verizon apologists will have to say.

That is a really interesting question, haha. I've been saying, for me, it's not about whether or not Verizon hits an arbitrary release date they themselves picked. It's about the overall idea of delays related to Verizon's bugs, as Cory just pointed out. So for me, *if* it did get pushed into January, it would really just be par for the course, not all that surprising or crazy. Meh. Life goes on.

But what say you, "a delay is not a delay until Jan 1" crowd? Are you suddenly going to grab pitchforks and get angry on Jan 1? I doubt it. My guess, you'll still just say "wait til it's ready, they'll release it when they release it."

So what's the point of even talking about this arbitrary Dec 31?

I don't think Verizon is going to issue an apology. In their eyes and words they've done nothing wrong. Maybe Samsung should issue an apology for saying we will have the phone in November when apparently it's not their decision when we will have the phone

EDIT: I just reread your comment. If they only announce it in December and don't release it then yes, I think they might owe an apology. I still don't think we'll get one

It's unfair to put the issue on their backs. Why should Samsung apologize, they've done nothing wrong. All they can do is work w/ the info. Verizon gives them. So who foots the blame the carrier or manufacturer? Not a hard one to answer. This isn't the first time Verizon has made Samsung look like the patsy during this whole period since the, Nexus 3, news surfaced. They've done it blatantly on 3 occasions already, and already have made Samsung issue an apology in their regards. I'm sure they'll add another one b4 it's all said and done.

Any way someone could explain what this says. The attatched .jpg is to small to view on my Rezound.

Nothing really. VZWRocks posted another one of those online chats with a verizon rep. It caused a little bit of a stir because the rep said "we are on track to ANNOUNCE the AVAILABILITY of the galaxy nexus this year."

Of course I'm sure it was just worded poorly and she meant release this year.

Basically I asked here about the release only I called it the Nexus Prime just for giggles to see what she said. I got the same thing back as everyone else about the Galaxy Nexus (seemed like a copy and paste job) that we have seen before and no info. I mentioned Best Buy supposedly selling it the other day under the Nexus Prime name and asked if the phone name was changing and she said not that she knew of and wished me a happy holiday. Basically I was messing with her seeing if she would let something slip (unlikely but you never know) and of course she didn't because in all likely hood she was telling the truth and honestly didn't know.

That's how I took it. Unless there are serious showstopper bugs in the phone they are going to get the phone out before Christmas come hell or high water.

The holdup is #2 in this thread, and it isn't going to be fixed by midnight. Not even close.

Glad you put that on the record here. Alot of people don't get it cuz so many are hung up on the "Verizon hasn't said ish , so it's false" debate. They don't recognize plausible events, anymore. Guess the 4.1.02 soak test didn't pan out. I thought it was odd that a testers device saw the update and had no clue as to what it fixed.

I won't get angry, and i certainly won't grab a pitchfork, but I will understand the hostility from people at that point.

Yep, same here unless Verizon at that point does give an explanation since it would then be legitimately considered late.

I imagine they WOULD say something (probably after Dec 17th or so), similar to when the bionic got delayed. It would be to the effect of:

"Based on "compelling feedback" from the community, we have decided to incorporate Verizon-exclusive "enhancements" to the NEW Nexus Prime LTE - Exclusive from Verizon Wireless(TM). We apologize for the delay, but we believe that consumers will appreciate the expanded features that only Verizon Wireless offers. We are excited to release the Nexus Prime LTE in Q1 of 2012."

you will not get an explanation. the likely reason for the delay is an issue with the phone and how it works with their network. they will not tell you that something is wrong because that's just bad marketing. why would they admit that something is wrong with the phone or their network? they're just waiting until the issue is fixed then they will announce it. until then you really won't hear anything from them but "it will be here soon."

I think it might be prudent to cut the talk on a post 12/31 release until at least, mid Dec. All it does right now is gives the rumor mill another senseless addition that really holds no validity if you have to assume what context it was regarding. You can always find an answer in the strangest of places if you look hard enough. Doesn't mean it's right, though.

No they would say something like "we are working with Samsung and Google to provide the best possible experience on our network" or something vague like that not admitting a problem per se but not being silent either if they actually missed their end of the year deadline which again I don't think will happen.

True. My point was, I don't want to listen to the same "wait-til-Dec-31" mantra over and over and over for the next 5 weeks, and then have to hear "wait til the end of Q1, wait til end Q1" over and over for another month to 2 months.

If people are going to accept the goalposts getting moved, then I'd like to know that now, as there's really no point in the Dec 31 date then anyway.

They won't for the same reason Verizon could only get 2 bloat apps on the.GN. There adoptive parents, of Googles baby. Samsung and Verizon have their hand in the creation of the GN since inception but the final product ultimately isn't their child. Verizon only really gets control over a release date. They just decide when they wanna hold the door open so the dog fan take a leak.

I think everyones in unison on the subject at this point.
