Just pre-ordered at Best Buy. I was #3 at around 11:00. The guy said they were getting around 20 units and weren't worried (yet) about selling out.

Went in 2 hours after opening. Was number 4. Filled out sheet and got my receipt and 50 gift card. Asked about waving activation and he said not likely. Also if you get a accessories discount you can't use it at best buy. Im thinking going to verizon Thursday since they open an hour earlier and get my accessories and see if they will wave activation then ill just get it then and cancel best buy.

Got to Best Buy just as they were opening, which was great considering i didn't know what time they opened. Was in and out withing 10 minutes, pre-order paid for . =]

I called Verizon wireless and they said if I called them after i pick up my Xoom on Thursday they will credit my account for any activation fee's and the first months data. The phone rep even stated she was notating my account to show this and if there are any problems on Thursday to ask for a supervisor.
