Freaked out a bit seeing the update message this morning on my phone. I need to get a game plan ready for when KitKat does eventually hit.
I've never rooted before because I never had a need to. But it seems like I probably will have to after KitKat in order to continue to use the wifi hotspot on the phone. What is the easiest, safest way to retain this feature after the update? I assume some kind of root, but I'm not looking for anything fancy. I just want the wifi hotspot, nothing else. I want the phone to look and function exactly the same as before.
What is the best method for what I want? What happens if Verizon pushes another update after KitKat?
