Damn the S20 Ultra is going to make a big dent in my pocket even after the Note 10 trade in. I'm guessing they will offer $600 for trade in and after trade in plus tax still looking at close to $1000 for the Ultra.

If I decide to move on the ultra I have to decide between trading and selling my S10+ and Note 10+. I have a feeling I would do better trading S10 and selling the Note financially. Then when I think about it I will probably want the next Note. I wish they had just made the Ultra with an Spen.

That's what I'm going to do. No doubt the S10+ and Note 10 probably trade for the same. If not no more than a 50 dollar difference.

I had kinda hoped for the merger to happen and the S20 Ultra to come with an s-pen but I guess Samsung want to release a Note Fold first to see how that goes before merging them, unless there's not going to be a Note except for the foldable one this year

That's still not that bad. Considering the smallest S20 is going for $999. So if you pay $1000 for the ultra after your trade in that's a hell of a deal.

So if I don't get the ultra I'm still curious to know how much the 256 GB model is going for?

256 GB of regular S20/S20+? They are probably $100 more than their base 128 GB models if they decide to put 128 GB as base. They should honestly put 256 GB standard like the Note 10.

Note 10 pluses are a dime a dozen are going for as low as 600 on swappa right now (I just bought one) so the trade in will probably be better.

Resale value seems worse than last year for Note 9s around the same time.

Currently 2/5, nothing lower than $670 is offered.

Add PayPal fees/swappa fee/shipping etc it'll be worse than trade in even if you can sell yourself for $650. I got $650 for Pixel 3 XL trade in at Microsoft store while getting Note 10.

Samsung phone launches always makes sense to trade in and not have the hassle of selling yourself.

Especially if you add shipping insurance which I wouldnt ship without.

I thought the prices sounded pretty outrageous, but the Note 10+ 5G retails for $1299 (without discounts). Considering in the US all models are supposed to be 5G capable, and I'm assuming at least the Ultra will ship with 256GB standard that sounds about right. Outrageous still, but right. I plan on keeping my Note 10+, but those prices may make me think twice about buying the Note 20 at launch. May have to wait until they start discounting them.

Over the weekend several of them went for 600 or less in mint condition. I actually got mine for 575. As mentioned above after shipping, PayPal and the general hassle any trade in of 600 or higher will be the way to go.
