Where did you read that from? If so that's only $100 more than the S10+ was last year. I'm talking about the Ultra. If I end up getting that one, it's a total shame there is only two color options. I wonder if the reason they chose only 2 colors was incase it doesn't sell well. But if it does ended up selling like crazy I'll bet you sometime in the summer they'll add a third color to increase sales . I can't remember which phone it was but Samsung ended up adding a Coral Blue in the summer because it was selling so good.

According to BGR, the t mobile s20 ultra will indeed be 1399 and is only available in 5g. I think Samsung is going to have a hard time moving them at that price.

The one that will suffer is the 1100 plus model. Samsung priced these outrageously, but also brilliantly. Anyone considering the plus model is likely going to say screw it and splurge on the Ultra, or save a few hundred and get the regular S20.

Samsung will then likely discount the two smaller versions after 3-6 months, after they've exhausted the Ultra market.

Is anyone hesitating due to the rumored q2 release of the fold2? Typically I would just sell and go for what I want but 1200 plus is serious coin. If theh can get the fold2 down a few hundred the gap won't be that large.

It’s crossed my mind to wait for the Fold 2. I figure I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. If it’s not on T-Mobile, I won’t be getting it anyway. If I can do a Jump On Demand, I’ll probably be getting the S20 for little or no down payment anyway. And if I want to switch to the Fold 2 when that comes out, then I’ll have the option. Long story short, I can see why you’d be hesitating.

I thought about it to or at least with the note 20 but I honestly think the fold is still a few years away, we'll see in the fall how much better the fold 2 is

Possibly. Maybe they have that factored-in. I can only imagine what this bodes for the Note20.

That's what worries me the most. Traditionally the Note skews higher than the highest end S series. If those rumored prices are correct for the Ultra, the Note is gonna be around $1499.

Any idea how much down payments will be? Since I'm with T-Mobile they tend to want a good chunk of a down payment. And I have Jump and the higher the down payment the lower the EIP will be. So I'm guessing for the S20+ 128 will be $199 down and the 256 will be $299 down. Unless I use my trade in as part of my down payment.

The fold 2 is rumored to be released in q2 not fall which has me thinking twice about the ultra.

TMo seems to always be a bit schizophrenic with high dollar pricing. I've seen a few phones that have one price out the gate, then it changes a week or so later.

Whelp, it's official. $1399 for the Ultra. I'm out at that price. No chance no matter how good the freebies are. That's more expensive than an iphone with crap resale value to boot. My 4 month old Note 10 Plus I purchased for $575 serves as a stark reminder of how samsung phones depreciate. By comparison, my 11 max pro just sold on swappa for $975.

Was really hoping the pricing was wrong. The pricing between the S20+ and the ultra is huge.

If they give 700 to 800 in trade in maybe the Ultra , it's a shame looks to be the best phone out the lineup that most wont get .
