Printing on Android?

I'm a new Android user - bought a tablet to dive into all these kit kats and lollipops to compare this OS to the other market leaders.

How does a major OS in this market have such trouble with printing? In a world of curved TVs in 4D, wristbands that tell you to exercise and sleep more and being able to control my house (garage, heat/air, lights, etc.) with my cellphone ...

I can't print from an android tablet? Or at least without doing an hour of research on the internet?

It is the year 2015 and we still cannot print painlessly from an Android Tablet. Have they fixed the printing issues with Google Cloud Print that brings up the 'ole "Unfortunately, Print Spooler has stopped" everytime I try to print something without having to clear the data/cache?

Do I need to send everything to my Iphone or Windows Desktop to print normally?

This is rediculous ... any help? Or else I'll go back to one of the other competent operating systems ...

It is a PITA. Samsung phones will only print to Samsung printers. HP has a print app but I haven't tried it yet.
Browse the Play store for some.

You don't say what kind of pr8nter you have, but there's a 75% chance it's an HP. If it has WiFi then just download HP ePrint and you are all set. I print from my phone and Tab all the time. There are still a few apps that you can't print from, so be aware.

I have a Brother printer and it's almost telepathically simple to print to it from any of my 3 android devices. However, yes, it's not as simple to print to just any printer as it is from say a Mac, Linux, or Windows machine.

Those printer apps/plug ins are great provided you have a specifically compatible printer. If not, your mileage will vary.

HP does a great job even with printers that are a few years old, Brother great as long as you are on the list. For unlisted printers, you have to be on the same wifi network (not cabled) and play around with settings to get your print scaling organized to your satisfaction.
