problem saving edited photos from gallery app

My LG G4 was just replaced due to a recall. I am trying to edit a photo, but after cropping and making changes I click the check mark. The photo reverts back to original, and I cannot find edited photo anywhere. I am sure this is an easy fix, but I am having trouble. Any help is very much appreciated.

Are you trying to save to the internal memory or an SD card?

I found the same problem today, make the changes click on save and it says unable to save changes but I stumbled across another folder labeled pictures that have the altered photos in.
