Problem tryin to figure out the Google APP Headset (play music)

I just got this phone yesterday and I am not able to play any music at all ? It came with pre-loaded songs but the won,t play ? So I connected the phone VIA my desktop thru the USB cable that came with the phone. I was able to open the device and it displayed a bunch of folders....one labled MUSIC . I dragged 2 songs from my Dersktop Library to the device's Music folder thinking that was the trick. Nope same response from phone. Not able to play ? Does anybody know the proper steps to take to get the phone to play music ? I need help.

PS : somebody told me to download Google play Manager at https://forums.androidcentral.com/e.../https://play.google.com/music&token=HZ8lzKNe and it opened with "Welcome to Google play music" with a box at the bottom that says "AGREE and NEXT" so I clicked that and it opens another window that says "Two ways to play" with one way bieng FREE and the other is "ALL ACCESS" so I ofcoarse chose the FREE one . So after I clicked that an new page opens and it is labled Google Wallet . Well I have an issue with this page as it is asking for a credit card ? If it is free then why do I have to enter a credit card number and it,s experation date and the security code ? I thought FREE is FREE Is this a step I have to do ?

Try downloading Juke Fox (free). It is a great player for music on device. Play Music is for streaming from Google's cloud services. Juke Fox will organize your music and allow you many play options popular with cloud services such as play artist, play genre, play similar...

If you need tags put back in to help Juke Fox identify and organize your on device music, try DroID3 Tagger (free). I just ran that program and it identified over 99% of my collection (1122 titles) which has had the tags stripped out due to various manipulations across devices. It even correctly identified some very obscure music.
