Problem using headphones / headset
I am on my second LG G3 - the first was was replaced for this very issue, but obviously it is not resolved.
I have tried 3 different headsets - one is an inexpensive GOgroove headset, one is Yurbuds headphones only, one is a Yurbuds Signature series headset. At one point I thought it was the Yurbuds Signature series and actually got a brand new replacement from Yurbuds and that was not the issue.
I mainly use a headset/headphone for listening to music on Spotify while I run. While running I also use a GPS tracker program called MapMyRun which I have set to announce intervals every 30 seconds.
Here are the problems I'm having:
I will be running - always run in one of 4 different places, so it's not a problem of loss of service - and sometimes within 5 minutes and sometimes a half hour will go by before it starts - the music will just stop, this typically happens between songs and if I stop and look at Spotify, it will say "You are Offline", but then instantly it that message will disappear and I will simply have to press the play button and the music will start up again. Once it happens, it will keep happening every 5 or 10 minutes. I have tried all 3 headphones and had the same issue. What I did try was to take out the headphones completely, turn up the volume, put the phone in my pocket and the issue never occurs (I tried this on a 1 1/2 hour and it never went out). The other odd thing is that while this happens, if I don't try and turn the music back on and keep the headset plugged in - my interval announcements from MapMyRun keep coming with no issue at all. At first I thought it must be Spotify, but if so, why does it not happen with no headset plugged in?
Second, similar issue: I will be running and the music will suddenly start getting quieter and quieter, down to nothing. I'll look at the volume and the headset volume will be down to 0. I turn it back up, and within a couple of minutes it will be back down to 0. One day when this happened I walked with the phone in my hand and actually watched the volume turn itself down to 0 without my touching it. When this happens I cannot use the slider to turn the volume back up, I have to press the volume button on the back of the phone, but it will not stay up. When this happens, if I just let the volume stay down (Spotify is still playing, but the volume is all the way down) - when my MapMyRun interval announcement comes on, I can hear the music in the background, but when the announcement stops, the music goes away again. This was the issue that I reported to Verizon and they sent me a new phone, but it is now happening with this new phone as well.
Third, similar issue: As I said, I mainly use the headset for music, but yesterday, I tried using it for a long phone call. The sound cut out several times and once the call was disconnected (I was sitting in one spot in my house and the person I was talking to was also sitting still in her house.
Does anyone have any ideas? Should I call Verizon? Should I go into a Verizon store? Is this a known issue? From other posts I've read, it seems that there have been issues with the headphone jack on these phones.
Thanks!
