I have a note4 since 31 october and it seems the camera won't focus properly. The close up shots are high quality but for the far shots its all blurry. Its not even that far lets say around 4-5 feet and the picture is blurry. I can get sharp focus on objects closer than 3 feet consistently, even in low light.
other than that the phone runs perfect.

here are some samples I shot:

how you can see form exif data the last one is a photo taken with a lot of light and the speed is 1/3072 with iso 40, so it's impossible to get out of focus image of still subjects in this light condition

the close-up shots are good:

what do you think? did anybody else spot this problem?

is it an hardware issue? maybe I cal solve with a deep reset?

Do you tap on what you want to focus on?

I have the same problem. :( I have an Otter Box Defender case on mine but I think it was doing it before i put the case on. I have a T-Mobile phone. I have tried everything I can think of and I am fairly savvy. frustrating for sure.

Thanks,
Nate

Same problem with me on my galaxy s5, far away subjects are blurry but close one are sharp...Here is an example :20141122_110647.jpg

MIne is also T-Mobile :/, I really hope is not part of their batch, I'll be damn pissed! I only got 2 more days for the end of my return policy ~_~

I dont see why theres no macro option :/, i can only get it with other apps though, sad :<. Yet yeah blurry... huh, only Tmobile in these messages?

I really only have issues with moving objects.
If you're in auto mode, just hold down the shutter button or the volume keys. It will do a burst shot of up to 30 photos.

Or sport shot mode, which has a faster shutter speed.

I have the same issue. Extremely annoying. I'm taking my note 4 back for a replacement ASAP. Love the phone otherwise

No issues with me on Verizon.

I just wish samsung will give us fast shutter speed for the note 5 next year. I need to hold my note 4 steadily to take good photos. But, once i move, or my object moves, the result is satisfactory. I wish the shutter speed is somewhere around 250-300. Although, the video recorder is superb.

Mine works well with focusing (vzw n4). The only issue I've had with the camera is blurry night time photos.

I am in the process of making my Note 4 self aware.

I have a N4 on TMO, but my camera works just fine. Are you using the Samsung camera or the Google camera?

Got a replacement today and now the camera works perfectly. The T-Mobile rep tried to sucker me into the old "software update is coming spiel" but I was having none of that. Clearly there is an issue with a small number of these camera modules
