Problem with connecting PC with my Samsung Note 3

I have tried unplugging and plugging in the USB from my Galaxy Note 3 into my Mac. Not only does it not recognize my phone but the USB indicator does not show up in my notification bar. I have installed the latest Samsung Kies on my Mac. My operating system is Yosemite (10.10.2). Please help! - Thanks!

I don't connect with a cable anymore. Try the app called airdroid. Very nice for transferring files pictures documents etc. Wi-Fi required.

I also have this same issue and have tried every one of the resolutions mentioned here. Samsung is bringing my phone in for the second time, first time for this issue. The USB connection w computer worked perfectly prior to the 1st Samsung repair. Some of the data won't back up to the Cloud, so.... not too happy about that! Sending my phone in to Samsung tomorrow. Let me know if you find a fix. Hard to believe it would be the USB port since it charges perfectly. I believe it is a driver issue, as the PC reports such.

Hi all
I have the same problem.
Explorer can see the SIM card but when I try to copy over files it says the phone is disconnected.
When I went to my phone provider they said I had a Chinese copy and not an original Samsung.
So perhaps that is the problem ???

Thought I would get smart and try the Bluetooth
But despite the phone and computer saying it was connected,
it still doesn't appear in Windows Explorer and I can't transfer any files ....

By way of comment - my Note 3/AT&T/with Lollipop will content connect on one of my home computers but will only recharge on another.
Seem to me that the solution was that there's a switch in the configuration that needs to be thrown.
But I can't recall the exact procedure. Try Googling the problem. It's out there somewhere!

Did you install the Samsung drivers? They are available on the Samsung website under support. Also when you connect if it gives you the option select connect as media device.

Backup your device, and do factory reset. if you have SD card, also format that.
Your device will then work.
Cause i had the same problem with my Note 3, but after resetting it worked.

I felt like a real ***** when I got back from AT&T. Come to find out the cord I was using was charge only and not a data cord. Bought a data cord, went home, plugged it in, and my pics and videos were downloaded in seconds.

I advise you to try other ways to connect your phone, because I have also suffered from the same problem, for a long time and I have tried all methods available, but without results , now I am using ''Share It'' program to send and received files from my PC :)

The USB3 cable that came with my phone works, no hitches _except_ if the OS (Win 7 or 10) decides the phone is a different type of device😠
