Problem with google maps

Recently when I use naps when I take the wrong turn it doesn't reroute and seems to lose your location. This is also happening now and again when you don't take the wrong turn. Other people seem to be having similar problems on the reviews on play store. Is it the new update?

I have been experiencing similar behavior. And as of this afternoon, I am unable to view streets on it. What is happening?!?!

Try Waze. Google owns that, too.
