hi guys, i just got my nexus few days ago and i realize there is some kind of graphic glitch (picture below) on my navigation bar. it doesn't happen all the time tho but randomly...
any idea what causes this and is there solution for this? i'm running on full stock (N/A), no modification done or what so since i got my nexus 4. finger crossed hoping this is not a hardware problem...

p/s: i had tried factory reset but no luck...:'(

since you were able to screen shot it with the issue reproduced in the image its not a HW issue.

Do a factory image restore http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...er-factory-restore-root-any-nexus-device.html

nexus 4 factory image has to be downloaded from other source.

thanks !! would give it a try...
erm how do i do a factory image restore? as the link you posted do i need to unlock my bootloader first before any factory image restore? or i can go ahead with the second step on the link?
sorry to ask, am totally new to this android thingy

pretty sure you have to unlock bootloader and maybe root. I'm not exactly sure but whenever i factory reset with the image, my phone has been rooted.

you have to unlock bootloader but step 5 is locking it again after factory restore.

do step 0,1,2 and 5.

skip 3 & 4

factory image for nexus 4 in step 2 direct download https://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/occam-jop40d-factory-ca7602f0.tgz

got from here http://forums.androidcentral.com/ne...3923-guide-nexus-4-factory-image-restore.html trusted source.

hi guys
feeling the same frustration for my friend since he owns this nexus 4 device, i decided to help him out and after two days of searching and some experiments i'm coming with a workaround

1)sorry for my bad English

2)root your nexus (you can google it or follow the steps in this website:
Flash TWRP Recovery / CWM Recovery For Google Nexus 4 non-rooted devices with N-Cry Toolkit

3)Download the Xposed Installer APK froem here:
[FRAMEWORK ONLY!] Xposed - ROM modding without modifying APKs (2.6.1)(20.05.2014) - xda-developers

4)Download and install Gravity Xposed Module from here:
[APP][KK][XPOSED] GravityBox v3.1.3 - tweak box for Android 4.4 [18/05/2014] - xda-developers

5) open xposed framework apk and activate the Gravity Module

6) Once the module active you'll be able to modify the height of the Navigation Bar, 54 dp is the maximun and this is what we need to do so we can save around 80 bucks+

i hope this guide works for everybody and please don't forget to say thanks to the guys from XDAdevelopers and if you can buy them a coffee do it

if one of you want tho say thanks my email is y2leonevo4g@gmail.com

Happy hacking :)
