Problem with ram after root

So I decided to root today using the 3rd method. That was successful and went off with zero problem. The only thing I've done since the root was change some of the apk files to .old extensions to remove bloatware. I only did the ones Cory said were ok in his post. I also am running DL09 ota update. My problem is that my ram its now showing no less than 220 at all times and my phone is running extremely slow. At a loss as to how to correct it. Thanks in advance.

look into flashing Super Clean rom for DL09. It debloats for you and runs very smooth even with 220 or more memory used.

So If I use super clean should I go back in and remove the .old extensions before I start that process?

Ok, will do. I was a little hesitant to try the superclean cause I like touch wiz but if it is as good as everyone says it is then the headache of tracking down all the downloads will be worth it, I'll let you know how it goes.

Super clean is still based on TW, it just has all the bloat removed
Thanks Kevin, didnt know that, makes me feel a little better about the process. Not sure why my phone is using so much RAM and im hoping that that will at a minimum speed up my phone.

220 is not a problem at all IMO. If your phone is lagging there is another problem.

yeah the OS will consume what it needs. dont worry when it needs more resources it will free some up. if you are experience lag its not about free memory or not , its the processes that the memory is being used for

Just keep in mind that you might have to add some things back. I need to open word/excel files so I put back thinkdroid.apk. Voice commands via bt will need the nuance.zip that adrynalyne made. If you use DLNA, you will need to add it back as well.

Those are only the ones I typically add back ...

Also a simpler method of debloating is to make a "Junk" folder on your SD card and just copy and paste the .apks you don't want there instead of renaming them. This allows you to just copy them back instead of searching through them all and renaming them individually should you need to restore them.
