Problem with sound on my Samsung S4, how can I fix it?

problem with sound Samsung S4

i have a Samsung S4 and my provider is Verizon..I am able to make a call but I don't hear anything..the other person can hear me..it doesn't happen every time and sometimes it takes rebooting a few times..very frustrating!! Thanks in advance for any advice..
