i unlocked and rooted my phone, then installed the vicious 4.1 rom yesterday. Everything seemed perfect! I am having one problem now though. My 4G speeds seem to be crap! I dont know if its my local network or if it has something to do with the rom? anyone having similar problems? or any fixes anyone could suggest?

Probably network related, I wouldn't fret too much about. The network has been heavily strained since the storm on Friday.

I read a news report from the east coast dated today that indicated Big Red was having widespread outages and data issues across multiple business lines due to the power outage issues hitting many areas. I noticed in Cincinnati that I lost almost all data connectivity (even with full bars) for a few hours between 11am and about 3pm.

im on the east coast.. we got power back today.. at first my 4g felt like 1x.. but now its back to that usain bolt speed

Where are you? I'm outside of DC and it was a crap show when that storm hit.

I can attest I live in Maryland and flew from Baltimore to new Orleans today. I flew up to Baltimore on Friday before the storm and had great 4g in the airport(there's a Verizon 4g antenna there). I was running jellybean then but updated to a newer ROM version this weekend. Today at BWI I wasn't even getting 4g at times I was thinking I'd be reverting back but in new Orleans I'm getting great speeds. I believe its the storm. It was an intense storm

I had a couple of reboots with the phone today, only happened while using google music when I played this love by pantera........maybe it just didnt like that song :)
When it rebooted it got stuck on the google screen at start up and I had to pull the battery but was fine after that. The song did play after the 2nd reboot

didnt notice anything with 4G though (just north of boston)

Maybe you should take your kernel to a new level?

That works

Sent from Oliver, my Nuclear-Powered, Orb-Shaped Candy Device.

Not that I need it; but what about VZ Backup Assistant (for those of you who don't know, you can go to your VZ website and download all your contacts and upload it to Google...)

So, does Google Wallet work officially now?

I have had this same issue. What kernel would you suggest? I see that you list a few in another post. Anyone work the best for you? I think I am on Franco's currently, and have had some boot issues. Thanks! Lovin the JB and don't want to go back if I can get it stable. :D

Boot issues are more rom related right now. The only two roms that I know have that have adequately addressed it are Jelly Belly and VanirBEAN (this one b/c they're using Belly's script).

For a kernel, I've been using trinity since Saturday. Right now I'm on the 1344 version of JB14. The overclocked ones are cool, but a tad too unstable right now. I expect they'll become more stable in the next release.

I'm on the vicious jb and it did a weird boot, Google screen for a mi ute, then the X for a minute, then back to the Google. I was getting ready to power down but it ended up booting a few minutes later.
It that the normal boot up?

I am on Liquid now, but maybe I will give Jelly Belly a run. I am have not fully set up my phone yet, so I may test it out. Thanks for the help!

I've heard of that. So long as it gets past the Google screen you're usually good to go.

Always do! Nothing dirty here.

Excellent, lest we have force closes and gremlins!

camera app works, but unless im being daft, i cant get the JB optimized stuff to work (pinch to view gallery, swipe-delete pics)
