Problems with pop ups

Whatsapp notifications are popping up at top of screen even though in notifications settings set to "no pop ups". I have just updated my s7edge... has anyone else having trouble with pop up notifications showing even though notifications set to "no popups".. on Whatsapp. Tried every combination in notifications and it still pops up. Most annoying
