promised 25gb dropbox

It is just 2 years. I'm migrating all my stuff to GDrive, 100GB for £3 a month :)

Sent from my BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps using Android Central Forums

25GB is nothing. I'm willing to bet when the 2years are up you will be able to keep it for free, or go up to 250GB for an extra $5/month.

If it worked for me I would consider it. Having multiple cloud storage is always a good thing but I just want one "main place" to access all my files. I think Google Drive is probably best for me as it contains all my Google Docs etc... It is also Google so will be supported by many apps etc...

If I can get this working I may re consider but it is not seeing that I connected even though I am uploading files(photos) to it anyway as I type this. So I have no idea.

It never hurts to have more than one cloud storage really. As long as Google Drive works for me for my main stuff DB would be a sweet second.

I didn't get the extra space when I first set up the EVOLTE. I did get a little extra when I first set it up to do automatic camera uploads but not the 23gb.

I went into my account on the computer and unlinked the phone, went on the phone and unliked it there too and then signed up again. Opened some folders and on my computer got notification that my space increased. Now says I have 26.2gb. The HTC space is 23gb. I alreay had 3.2gb. Here's the e-mail message I got.

Hi Nicholas,

Congrats on becoming a Dropbox Guru! We've awarded you 23 GB of bonus space for the next 24 months! You now have 26.25 GB on Dropbox. To get even more space, check out our upgrade options.

Thanks again for supercharging your HTC device with Dropbox!

Enjoy,
- The Dropbox Team

I've been a dropbox user for a couple of years. Had it installed on my original EVO 4G for the last year. Went through the hoops a while back with their camera upload service to get a few extra gigs.

After getting the 4G LTE, All I did was install the dropbox app and let it run a little bit. The next day, I had the 23gb without doing anything else. Received the notification email, with the line:

"Congrats on becoming a Dropbox Guru! We've awarded you 23 GB of bonus space for the next 24 months!"

Just sharing my experience. No hoops, no friend invites, just installed and voila.

Thanks Nick. God advice even though it did not work for me.
I unlinked both the phone and PC. I uninstalled it from the PC and phone. I re-installed. My phone still says Last Activity of N/A.

Does anyone's say anything different listed there?

Anyway unless it kicks in tomorrow somehow I am still not getting this. I am assuming if it is listing the phone activity as N/A that it won't acknowledge the bonus space.

I know most have had good luck but I am only posting to somehow help anyone else with this issue. It is not a huge deal to me really but some really want it so there you go. i:Di

Did you try auto uploading any pictures? That's something they seem to want you to do to connect the phone to the account. Might work. I already had my account setup that way from my previous phone.

Yes yesterday I set my phone to auto upload all my pics and it did upload a lot before I unlinked it again. i:)i

I could just email support and probably get it resolved I am sure. Again I only keep posting to maybe get some input that others could use.

I do find it strange though and I think I am more curious than anything at this point. i:Di

I had the same issue and uninstalled / unsynched from the phone first and then the computer. Re setup on the phone, uploaded some camera shots, reinstalled on the desktop and re-synched that and now I have 28 gigs of storage :)

got it very easily. installed on my evo lte, signed in, and got an email, followed email and it told me I had already completed all required steps.

Okay I have asked this a few times now but so far no one has responded. i:)i

Can someone let me know if their settings-->My Computers lists the Android as having a last activity.

Same exact result! Hopefully tomorrow an email will say something to the effect of being granted an extra 25GB.

Got the extra 23GB now, a short while later. Don't know what triggered it.
I went to: https://www.dropbox.com/gs and as soon as I started step #1, I got the email.
(I had already done "some" of the other steps. I did steps 1,2,3,4 and 7, skipping 5 and 6.)

I got it, I tried it from my main PC instead of the laptop and when I clicked on the link it said do one more step to get 23GB. So I did and got it. The trick was using another, older, account I guess. It is NOT the same as I use for my Google account on the phone but it works!

Maybe they had a few issues they needed to fix and quietly fixed them.

I am setting a reminder on my Google calendar to alert me about two weeks prior to the expiration date so I can copy everything off of it in case I don't want to pay in 2 years. i:)i

I thought it was supposed to be 25Gb?

^^^ I think you have to do a few extra things for the extra two gigs of space. I had all of my 25 within 5 minutes

All DB accounts start off with 2 GB free. You can then get more by referring people, sharing folders etc... It adds up.

This particular bonus is 23 extra GB added to the normal 2 giving you the 25. I currently have 26.9. i:)i

Ok..I still have not recvd the 23gb bonus. Completed all the steps year+ ago, added photo's and just got some bonus space for that. No response to email ticket with dropbox, OR to posts in their forums. I love Dropbox. This is starting to bug me.
My son, and 2 other referrals that I sent to EvoLTE all got their bonus, of course.

I'm in the same boat. No 23GB bonus space. Tried unlinking, uninstalling, etc. Still no email or updated space. I did take advantage a while back of the leaked HTC One X Dropbox APK that gave you extra space, but then Dropbox removed that space for those who used the APK. I wonder if that means my account is now somehow flagged to not receive the extra space.

For those of you still not receiving it like me, did you also try the leaked APK a while back?
