proximity sensor issue

I decided to make a new thread after what i learned. I figured my issues (black screen always during call, not powering on unless plugged in a charger or battery in and out) were issues of the proximity sensor. I found an app and tested the closest distance and it as 0.0cm. Which I assume means it is always being covered. I recently replaced the screen myself since it was badly damaged. There is no screen protector. Just the regular glass on the screen. What do i do. Can I bypass and disable the proximity sensor? Or what? I emailed the company to complain.

On phones that don't give you the option to turn off the proximity sensor, you'd have to root it and use something like Xposed Framework and Sensor Disabler.

You emailed LG to complain about the inability to disable the proximity sensor? This is not a standard Android feature--it's not possible on Nexus devices (unless you root). And I don't think they would feel obligated to help if you damaged the screen and replaced it yourself.

I did it. I fixed it. Turns out the screen didn't come with some pieces and after placing them in and calibrating the sensor it now works perfect.
