proximity sensor S9+

[Android Central Question]

My problem with the sensor, is that when i dial a number, the screen turns off and i have to wake the fone up so i can use the speaker/ keypad function. this only happens when i have the lifeproof FRE 360 case on, however, we tried a number of different cases in store and they all do the same thing ...... very frustrating. My case also turns screens black on different fones!! seems that the sensor is way to sensitive, not sure if this is a software issue or faulty fone or case. lifeproof sent me a replacement case, but same issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Does the phone also have a screen protector on? If so, see what happens if you take it off.
