Purple Screen at low brightness?

My Moto X has a more yellow tint when turned all the way down, not purple.

That's fascinating, thank you! I will investigate that on my phone.

Would that effect also explain the control (back, home, and multitask) artifacts displaying on the middle of the screen?

I also noticed this small curvy line on the right side of the screen, and it's noticeable on any background, but only at minimal brightness. Do you think that is a defect?

Thank you raptir.

I don't really know about the home/back/recents buttons appearing elsewhere on the screen... I've never seen anything like that.

I haven't noticed any curvy line either, but I haven't looked for it. It also doesn't seem to be visible in your picture below.

Does everyone's screens look grainy? It looks like every pixel has a slightly different color.

I'm just wondering if mine is normal in this regard.

Thanks!

Hard to tell from the picture, but that looks about right and is caused by having a PenTile display. The Moto X 2014 has an RGBG layout PenTile display, so each row is offset from the last. It's most noticeable with a single color background since each row should be displaying the exact same thing.

hello everyone ! im glad i found this post i also noticed the vertical lines on my "Galaxy tab s 8.4 T-705" like 3month ago they are really really hard to notice and only if you set the brightness to the lowest and also be ina almost completely dark room looking at a gray pic or close to gray , ive been told this issue is common with amoled screens i even seen it on S6 which is their newest device so i dont think if we are the onlyone , but what i really wana know is does this lines get worse over time or not ? cuz if not then i dont care at all as they are super hard to spot anyway so wont bother me anyone has any idea or experience ?

A purple thick line appears at the bottom of my moto g 2 whenever I increase the brightness.. I can clearly notice it while covering my camera lens when I turn on the camera and can take pic of that too... Any idea any one??
