Putting apps in Internal Memory vs. SD Card

Are there any advantages other than space to moving as many apps as you can to the sd card instead of keeping them on the internal storage of the phone.
IE: Phone runs smother/faster.
I have Internal total space of 6.60GB w/ 6.50 GB available. All my apps are on the internal storage but I seem to have plenty of room left so I am not sure if I should even bother pitting them on my sd card.

I wondered the same thing. I've moved a lot over, since I keep getting storage earnings...

Something I did notice though, and this isn't in regard to the way the phone runs, per se, but I noticed that twidroyd Widgets disappear when the app is moved to the card.

The internal memory (internal SDcard) is separate from the remaining phone memory that is taken up by emails, txt msgs, vm's, cache from FB app. You can clear out the phone log, txt msg logs etc and free up that memory and your phone will run smoother.

I really see no need to put the apps on the SD card. I prefer to save the space on the card for my music, pics, and documents.

I would not bother putting them onto the SD card, i would suggest to move apps to SD card only if you are at a lack of space for more apps, and i would only move apps that are not graphic intensive. such as a calculator or shopping app etc....

Games should remain onboard so that they run faster.

I did not think the apps were stored in the 6+gb of internal storage but rather the 700+mb of storage??

I had forgotten that the amount of "application" memory was so little on the DInc, still its a great phone. I would have thought that a) HTC would have been smarter about this out of the gate and b) put some effort with 2.2 to allow the 6GB of memory to be allocated to App memory but I guess not.

You really shouldn't have to worry about app memory on a smartphone that is still the top selling at Verizon.

I don't think the app memory is bad. Started with 748mb and after nearly 100 apps I still have 598mb of free app space. I will never use that much!

I think some people are just app market addicts and can't stop hitting the install button. I don't use most of the installed apps that much and there is plenty of space.

That may be, but they put 8GB on board, they just failed to do it correctly. Seriously why put 8GB that the user can not fully use for installing and running apps in fact can you actually install apps on the internal 6GB? All I see is install to SD card.

I will agree even with 170 apps all on internal memory on my DX I used maybe 750MB so I set my DInc to install to SDcard.
