putting music on nexus?

so I just bought a nexus 4 today (love it!) and when i plug my phone into the computer with a USB and i click view files, there are no folders? i'm using vista and it recognizes its a nexus but there are no directories. is this normal?

I'm using Windoze 7 and have copied music and videos from my computer - no problem. Perhaps it's something in Vista?

In settings>storage. Tap the3 dots, tap usb computer connection and check the MTP option

Also make sure the screen isn't locked. You won't see anything listed under "Nexus 4" if the screen is locked when you plug it in.

As an aside, you can also upload 20,000 songs to Google Music and stream them to your phone.

Not the same as having them on your phone (need to use data or wi-fi), but, not a bad option.
