All of these posts make me very nervous.
Mine arrives tomorrow morning. Returning to Let's Talk to get it replaced is going to be a big time-consuming hassle too. I've waited so long, don't want to wait another month for a return to be turned around.
So all those early reviews about the amazing build quality is pretty much crap. It's amazing if you get lucky and get one with no issues.
My HTC One is perfect. no gaps, dings, dents, rattles or anything detrimental at all.
I also think that when it comes to build quality issues some people are just trying to split hairs. This seems to be the case on any new device, not just the one. You always read about people sort of complaining about what I would think are some of the most petty things. I say to myself all the time, 'self, there is no way in a million years that we would notice half of these issues/problems that people are talking about." Unfortunatley there are few things in life that are "perfect", even though we all want /strive for that perfection. In the end of it all I would consider the build on my one perfect with no noticeable problems.

I'm sure if I took pictures of all my devices at a 10x zoom in macro mode I would see lots of stuff too. If I can see it with my naked eye it would be a problem. I get how the power button may be an issue because you can probably feel how it's askew a little bit, but the volume rocker? I can't see that gap being more than a fraction of a millimeter. But that's just me.This is what I'm currently dealing with. I already replaced it once at AT&T for this same issue with the volume button, and it was not a pleasant interaction with the sales rep. This is my new phone, it's slightly less crooked than my original one.

The new phone came with a bonus, lock/wake button is also crooked. I reached out to HTC and they advised to speak with their RMA department, we'll see how that goes.

The one I received yesterday had no gap what so ever. I will report back about the one I get today.
I'm supposed to get mine from TMobile tomorrow.. I'm kind of hesitant to open it now. If I open it and it has any defects, would I be able to return it and get a brand new one, or will they give me a used one that's been returned by someone else? I just ported my number over, so I'm new to their service, but with the phone being brand new I'm not sure if I should just return it unopened and get another phone until these kinks are worked out.
Plenty of people have bought their own phone and had these same issues so I don't think you can blame the demos or anything else.
