Quality Issues With HTC One

Mine has a small gap in the top left corner between the speaker grille and the white plastic. It's not very big and doesn't bother me at all. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366955065.050630.jpg

I have a similar gap too, and I really don't mind it much. The rest of the phone is flawless, and this tiny tiny gap doesn't bother me much.

Are everyone exchanging phones for gaps like these? You have every right to do it, but I'm just curious.

It may just be an early kink in production, and most have it. I would only exchange if dust starts getting in. Since it isn't I won't. Plus, I use a case 90% of the time anyways, so it's not like I look at it all day.

This is what I'm currently dealing with. I already replaced it once at AT&T for this same issue with the volume button, and it was not a pleasant interaction with the sales rep. This is my new phone, it's slightly less crooked than my original one.

The new phone came with a bonus, lock/wake button is also crooked. I reached out to HTC and they advised to speak with their RMA department, we'll see how that goes.

Sorry to hear about your issues! I just started a post here for the exact same issue with my power button. It's annoying the heck out of me as I have to press it extra hard to get it to work on the right side. Looks like HTC has some QA issues to iron out.

It might just be how it's built. Every One I've seen so far is like that.

I will also say that the power button on the One, crooked or not, is far 'clickier' than any HTC I've used in a long time. So even though mine is crooked, I don't care because it still works fine.

I have a small gap on the bottom right corner, but to tell the truth I don't care wouldn't have noticed had I not looked for it. Other than that my phone is perfect

I don't think they are all made with a slant. Mines fine.

Yeah. Unfortunately, I did find many perfect units in Bestbuy and in the Sprint stores. The power button was super easy to use and it was even all the way around. I've packed up my One and will ask for an exchange. If they are out, then I'll just wait till all the stores get them again. Good thing is I paid full price and the terms on the receipt says I have 30 days to get my money back or for an exchange.

Interestingly, as mine gets broken in its starting to sink a bit closer to the white plastic. I'll keep an eye on it, but might be exchanging it if I can.

There doesn't seam to be major gaps in the aluminum with mine however the display keeps coming up from the bottom corner next to the home button. I can mash it back down but the glue must be bad since it keeps coming up. I first noticed it since the button backlight shines between the aluminum and the glass.

I've had mine for about a week now. Does anyone else have problems with the bottom speaker grill hanging over the edge of the phone maybe by 2/10 of a mm? It is like that on both sides. It doesn't really bother me all that much but I hope it doesn't get caught on something that rips the grill off...

Anyone seeing phones screen not being level with speaker grille

The top of my screen is not level with the speaker grille...bottom's fine, but the top is not. I wish it was the bottom that wasn't level because of the menu swipe. Are you getting a replacement?

One thing, which is minor that I don't quite like is that the headphone and charging ports are not reinforced with metal liners like most other phones. It's bare, soft plastic which wears down over time and even gets a bit of a jagged edge.

Mine has the tiniest, tiniest overhang on the bottom right hand corner, where the aluminum corner extends just a hair over the plastic. If I rub my thumb across it (which I try not to), I can feel it. Otherwise, this baby is flawless.

With a gap issue, is there a possibility of dust getting under the screen for the htc one?

I doubt it. My guess would be the screen is sealed up but there is a thread on here where a poster fixed it with a little white silicone. If it worries you try that.

Surprised no one has said anything about blown speakers. My bottom speaker is rattling like crazy. Blown out of the box. Replacement is on the way though...

I had to return my second One for that reason.

Mine is one of the first batches for AT&T and it seems perfect. No defects or issues.

The htc one, holding my third handset right now, absolutely love the phone but unfortuntaley might be forced to give it back. On my second handset, used it for a week and loved it, put on my new case too and was waiting for my steinheil screen protector to arrive in mail. When it did, i sadly waited till the next day to install it, and on my way to installing it dust under the glass of the phone itself, it was just one speck somewhere in the middle near the lower parts of the screen. I could have sworn it wasnt there before! At first i was surprised because i was expecting the screen to be sealed. I understand dust is everywhere, dont mind if its my phone but under the screen is too bothersome. So i went in to my carrier and they said third time was a charm, the gentleman brought out another box and set up my new phone for me, while waiting for the other store clerk to possibly install my screen protector for me right there i noticed a small speck of dust under the glass again.. this time on top of the screen in the middle right before the screen ends. i asked the guy if he saw it and they did most definitively did and admited as to how weird that is, fresh out of the box. Either way the manager then went on to refuse to open another box for me and told me to straight up get another phone now. He told me i would have to use the phone either way for 2 days at which point he will call me and ask me to come by and probably get the s4..
It just hurts cause i absoultely love phone and everything about it, the feel, the looks, the UI and i was more than happy to give up the extra battery space and storage to use what i believe was a better phone but its too bad my luck with their inability to keep dust out of their phone will be keeping me from being able to use it. I understand most people say the screen is sealed, but at the same time the grills do not seem very sturdy as i can press them in abit, and im wondering if that is where the dust could have gone in from. To those of you who got a working effective model, please make the most of it and enjoy your phone on my behalf atleast
