My sister's Nexus 4's screen has this weird thing as of today where she gets yellow lines and bars vertically among her screen that flicker constantly and the problem has been going on for a bit today. Any ideas what went wrong?
Sometimes the bars solidly stay there too btu the screen works fine and it seems the resolution has been knocked down [PPI went down].
Ideas?

Could it be a defect if it happened only now, 5 months after purchasing it?
Edit: My sister claims the phone fell. I don't know from how far but it fell.
Could be but knowing that it fell it probably caused a hairline crack in the LCD where the LCD connects to the flex cable(dont know the technical term for that area is). Cracks in that area can cause LCD's to do all sorts of weird things.

I'd be extremely careful with it and try contacting google about a replacement. As long as there is no visible physical damage they might still replace it. Worth a shot.
If not you can always replace the screen yourself.

Even my friend had that problem, usually screens go like that when a lot of pressure (physical) is applied on them. Either she sat on it, or the fall was just an excuse :P.

Are they more like long splotches than clearly defined bars? I get one that shows up around the multitask button about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide. It starts to show up when my phone gets hot and fades away when it cools back down.
At first I thought it was the glue still drying or something under the glass, but its been like 3 months now.
Might be a defect but it's my phone phone at the moment and it doesn't bother me enough to get it fixed.
